Hyundai updates 2019 Ioniq with more tech, safetyby Drew Johnson
The updated Hyundai Ioniq is coming this summer.
Hyundai is shuffling its Ioniq lineup for the 2019 model year. Updates for the Prius-rival include new safety features, a revised infotainment system and additional content for certain trim levels.
For the 2019 model year, Hyundai is rolling out optional Driver Attention Alert and High Beam Assist systems for the Ioniq. Those safety systems join already available safety tech like emergency braking, blind spot monitor and lane keep assist.
Hyundai says the 2019 Ioniq's infotainment system should be easier to use thanks to a new database provided by HERE. The new system is said to boast improved voice recognition and a better POI search function.
Mid-level Ioniq SEL models benefit from more standard safety tech for 2019. Those models now receive standard Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist and Smart Cruise Control.
Finally, 2019 Ioniq Plug-in and Electric models will come standard with remote charge management via Hyundai's Blue Link system.
Hyundai has not announced pricing for its 2019 Ioniq range, but the automaker says the eco-friendly runabout will arrive in dealer showrooms this summer.
