Improved KTM X-Bow to debut at Geneva show

07/16/2008, 1:45 PM

By Drew Johnson

KTM may be preparing to launch a new family of vehicles, but its bread and butter four-wheeler is still the X-Bow. And as if the X-Bow wasn’t already enough of a track day favorite, KTM is developing an even more powerful – and streetable – version of the X-Bow.

According to Autocar, the high-performance version of the X-Bow will use a modified version of Audi’s 2.0L FSI engine – a powerplant that makes 261 horsepower under the hood of the S3.

Perhaps even bigger news than the bump in horsepower – a phrase we don’t use often – is that the new version of the X-Bow will have the option of a full-size windshield and removable roof. Although these two additions won’t make the X-Box a luxury cruiser, it should help the track star seem a little bit more at home on public roads.

The new version of the X-Bow is expected to bow at March’s Geneva Motor Show.

All cars should be as ridiculous as this one!
No roof means people won’t be using it in winter or in the rain, so:: less pollution.
Extremely powerful means that natural selection among drivers will be accelerated. Slow idiot drivers will be so scared by all the other people driving fast around them that they would quit driving. Fast idiots will crash, die and free the world of incompetent drivers!
Governments will be forced to separate sidewalks from streets and add over the street pedestrian crossings everywhere, virtually eliminating all pedestrian induced accidents! No speed limits or traffic laws will help reduce the police force, and free some of the justice system from the burden of idiotic “you scratched my car” trials. No insurance will mean less people dedicated to doing nothing and taking your money and more people doing useful stuff, like taking care of their carbon fiber farms!
I know I’m an utopian dreamer, but someday I’ll take over the world and force my opinions onto every human being on the planet, transforming it, not into a more safe or easy to live in world, but a damn FUN world!
Heil X-BOW!!!

Better not. I expect MY X-Box to sit on my living room floor.

I’m guessing that the Microsoft spell check was automatically replacing “X-Bow” with “X-Box.” After all, Microsoft’s products should never be misspelled.
