While we provided you with the 10 best overall sellers of 2011 yesterday, here’s a peek at what cars finished strongest during the last month of the year.

Overall exceeded analyst expectations last month, something we can easily see from the list below. Ford’s F-Series led the list once again, selling an astounding 68,278 examples. That’s the kind of figure that reminds us of the truck boom of the late 1990s and early 2000s (although it’s still not quite that strong; Ford sold an average of 72,400 F-Series trucks each month in 1999).

But the redesigned Toyota Camry also finished strong last month, as did a few lame duck models like the Nissan Altima, Ford Escape, Ford Fusion and Honda CR-V. Redesigned versions of all four will be on the road within the next six months.

Finally, one more notable that reminds us of the late 1990s: Jeep delivered 17,346 Grand Cherokees for its best single month since 2005.
