It’s not very often that the Chevrolet Silverado steps aside to let another vehicle take over second place in the list of the top ten best-selling new cars in the United States, but that’s just what happened last month.

Toyota’s redesigned Camry had an especially strong month with sales up 56 percent, which enabled it to slip into second place behind the Ford F-150, which has long led the sales charts.

Otherwise, the list was generally made up of the “regulars” that typically make their way into the most driveways. Honda’s Civic got off to a slow start after a redesign launched about six months ago, but the compact car was its segment leader last month. As usual, a number of the vehicles on this list are “lame duck” models – that is, cars that are set to be redesigned soon. New versions of the Nissan Altima, Toyota Corolla, Ford Escape and Chevrolet Impala are all set to either debut or go on sale later this year.
