It appears there is one taillight company making the same taillight for almost all SUV’s now.

This is not a re badged nissan rogue, the rogue sits on the sentra platform and is fwd based. This is a g35 wagon just called something else.

Infiniti doesn’t want to produce a wagon, so they come out with a CUV. It’s really is more like a G35 wagon no matter how they term it. Sure you can get the FX35 and pay another $6000 on top of the EX price and get a SUV with higher center of gravity. Or you can get the G35. But there are people who want a rear liftgate instead of a trunk without sitting high up. That’s where the EX comes in. It competes with the BMW 3-series Wagon, Volvo V50, Saab 9-3 Sportscombi, etc.

These cars are around because of gas price. No I don’t mean that people who can afford these cars are pitching pennies at the gas pump, but they might have to get rid of the second vehicle and use one car to do-it-all.

Johnnycanuck, don;t rush to turn over the license. This machinery is actually has few visibility problems compare with Rogue or Murano. The gadgetry is needed, because designers were not used to designing functional cars.
I saw EX on the street and looks very decent. I read that mileage is atrocious, but from 300 HP engine, RWD/AWD setup you not going to get Civic efficiencies. I like the look above all Nissan/Infinity CUV/SUV (tall wagons). I’d say that what BMW X6 wanted to look like that, before falling off the ugly tree.

Like it or not, this has some very cool features. The ‘Fluid Finish Technology’ clearcoat is especially novel. I wonder if the boys at Maaco are up to speed on that one yet.

Still, the day I can’t back up without using a camera or keep within my lane without being warned I’ll probably just head down to the DMV and hand in my license.

brendino how is it a rogue ripoff? A. nissan makes both, so they dont rip themselves off, B. this is twice the price, twice the power, twice the luxury, etc.

ive seen one in person in the jax airport… it looks like a tall g35 exactly as the reviewer noted. it’s very okay looking but was a loaded version and i remember it being $40k+ which is quite a price to pay compared to alternatives…

goes back to the main questions we all face as consumers:
Q: what question is the vehicle answering?
A: i don’t think this is even a niche need/want

Q: what can i get for the money?
A: xc90 for the suv set, a4 avant for the car set… it’s a “tall wagon” and i’d think the new a4 allroad would be a much more competitive alternative.

it’s nice…but there are lots of nice cars out there just not too many that id want to trade $40k for.

If I ever was on a Nissan/Infiniti design bandwagon, I’m jumping off of it right now. All of their new designs are predictable. New designs are barely different from old designs. I still love the engineering, but damn…even the Monster GTR is like a Z, only uglier. This EX is making me sleepy. I’m going to take a nap.

i really like the EX35 but for the money id take an FX if i needed space. Otherwise id just get a G35.
