I am all for horsepower but I dont think vehicles like these need this much. Will this vehicle ever be fun to drive or tow that much?

HemiRoadrunner, just for the fun of it, wanted to let you know...that "average working joe" is my redneck husband Lee. We own Simpson'S Garden Town Nursery, just outside San Diego in Jamul. We were a stop for the FX50. My husband & I have two barns full of old cars, even a 1970 Roadrunner. Check us out at www.simpsonsnursey.com. We liked the new FX, alot easier to load plants into, than most cars our customers bring. The folks at Infiniti did the test drive for a week with 9 cars each day. We put 2 native Oaks in each car, every day. We donated the 3cubic ft. bag of organic compost, you do the math. That was a very much appreciated gift for the fire victims by Infinity. If any of you bloggers get to San Diego come see us, It's free to tour our collection.

I actually found the old one to be an attractive vehicle... but this is definitely a case where they should have adopted the "Porsche" design school of thought - be lazy and don't fuck with it... because the front end of this thing is HIDEOUS! The interior is pretty much standard fare for what you get in this class.

Ohh... and HemiRoadRunner - don't become like some other people on here and make ignorant, all-encompassing, blatantly one-sided remarks about certain vehicles. Okay, so "grocery-getters" aren't your thing... but they're not all the same, nor are they all boring. The Enclave is a gorgeous luxury vehicle that offers just enough "utility" for those who need "just enough." The Dodge Magnum could be classified as a "grocery-getter" as well and that's certainly not boring!

If nothing else... appreciate these kind of vehicles for what they are - money makers... there's certainly nothing wrong with big coupes with big engines - but they're more of a niche market these days.

It's not just the front end, the entire vehicle is wacky. Granted, that is what makes it attractive to some, as 'johnnycanuck' stated, but generally speaking it is unattractive. Add to this the horribe mileage and this is the wrong time to be buying a 5L FX.

I like lots of cars, mostly early 60's to early 70's mopars. Actually, almost anything until 1987. Late 90's F bodies, I am sooooooo tired of the craze over plain jane, cookie cutter, i live in a suburb, milf machines. I have a 2001 Trans Am WS6, 2001 Ford Crown Vic ex cop car (daily commuter) and a 1970 Hemi RoadRunner I found parked in the back of an orange grove here 10 years ago sitting between an old crappy tractor and international truck. Ok?

To say the styling is an 'aquired taste' is an understatement. Infiniti knows who it's going after with the FX and along with current FX owners they clearly have their sights set on Murano drivers looking to take it up a notch. Those are the easy ones to pull in as they're already used to that design language. The rest of the upscale crossover crowd may not be that easy to sway. Love it or hate it styling may get you noticed, but on the other hand it also alienates half your potential customers right out of the box.

Nahhhhhh, looks more like they were trying to appeal to the old school crowd by taking a photo of an average working joe in front of an old garage. Didn't you notice the antique texaco and 7up signs? I think if they were worried about helping out a school, they would have used a bigger vehicle to put more crap in.

HemiRoadRunner,

The man was putting a bag of compost into the cargo area, that we were to deliver to a school that had been struck by the San Diego brush fires of last year. In a show of corporate responsibility, Infiniti donated trees and other items to the areas that were severely burned during that time, and the journalists on this particular ride and drive picked up and dropped the items off as they were part of our drive route.

I loved the previous FX 35 but they goofed on the front end styling. I think of sharks when I look at it. The last one had smooth flowing lines and this one has ugly girl in your face lines which can be good or bad depending on how much you drink anyway
I like that the interior is basically the same as the G very functional and has a signature look I just wish they would put more leg and cargo room in this thing. I got in one when I was in NY at the Auto show and it was tight

Previous looked a lot better, I mean, it was very cool, this thing looks cheap and seems that it wanted to look agressive and revolutionary. It's not.

I like the interior, and I like some of the technology features. But the front end of this thing is hideous. I don't think it's an acquired taste - it's just BAD.

They all look like bland, everyday milf mobiles to me. I don't want a grocery getter. And what's with the picture of the guy putting the big bag of grass seed into this thing, are they trying to make it look cool to farmers. POS.

NO, they don't. Look at the Enclave and the Acadia, those things pack a lot of style and are totally different. About the FX ,though, the previous one looked totally better. And unfotunately, you can say that about a lot of shit coming out of Nissan lately. ( Murano, anybody?)
