Infiniti prices 2010 G37 Sedan and Coupe

12/17/2009, 2:47 PM

By Nick Aziz

Infiniti has released official pricing for its revised 2010 G37 Sedan and Coupe. Despite a modest update inside and out, the 2010 G37 will list from $33,250 — the same price as the outgoing model. The 2010 G37 Coupe sees a modest $150 price increase, bringing the price of entry to $36,050.

The front headlights have become more angular and less bulbous on the 2010 models — a look that’s almost reminiscent of the original G35 coupe lamps. The grille has also been adjusted, and new fog lamp clusters look decidedly well integrated.

The rear bumper was also reworked, though it will take a trained eye to notice the differences. More obvious is the new 17-inch wheel design, which comes as standard.

Inside, there are new gauges with a white color theme, a choice of new aluminum or maple trim, and a few tweaks to the center console and dash. Real-time traffic and weather are now part of the XM satellite system, which is accessed via a seven-inch touch-screen.

Best facelift ever!

Okay, maybe that was a little much, but I did not like the current G37 face – this just makes it a complete car for me. Kind of like what the 2005 facelift did to the original G35.

Yay for foglights!

The previous grille was perfectly designed. No need to add this chrome milk moustache to it

Don’t like how the upper/lower chrome strips on the grill extend out.

Why can’t someone at Nissan actually promote, and produce the Infiniti Essence Concept styling versus this suppository styling? Infiniti’s do not convey a luxury car styling, and have not done so since their inception.

I saw the photo and my first reaction was why are they running the M article again. I’d love to go into a rant about this recent trend towards the maintaining the corporate ‘face’ whether or not it could be judged to be appropriate to the mission statement of a particular model but why bother? They all do it. Between that and the alphanumeric mishmash they put on the back you almost need a doctorate to tell one model from the other.

At least the G37 Coupe still has two doors.

Looks a lot better, they fixed most of my beef with the front end. It is no longer the most boring looking sedan in the segment…! I guess the Lexus takes that award….yet again.

If I had to go back to a sedan today (loving my sporty wagon), this is the car that would be at the top of my list. It has a great combo of looks & performance. No surprise that the G line is the heart of Infiniti.

Yeah Johnny,

I had those thoughts too. It’s such an interesting point to argue against a “corporate face” – why clamp down on a style and not just make everycar the best looking as possible not worrying about an imaginary “identity”? Each vehicle is seperate and besides in the dealership and on commercials, the models are owned by people who just want A car, not a whole lineup of cars.

It’s almost like this is an issue too big for anyone to tackle and no one company is ever going to do it. They all want an identity – no matter what that identity is.

Good perspective Jake. It’s almost as if they’re afraid someone might not recognize their product the moment they see it… as if people are prone to running straight for the dealership the instant they set eyes on something they like.

Same here johnny, I thought it was an M as well. I personally like the new headlights, but I love the “katana” grille on the current car.

WOW, Nissan is now officially busting Honda’s & Toyota’s asses.

Acura & Lexus designs are really crap compare to this beauty.

It doesn’t look like it’s been changed. You’d think when they go to the expense of bending the sheetmetal they would try to make the car appear fresh, new and different.

Still seems iterative from the original 2003 design. Not necessarily a bad thing, but starting to look dated IMO.

i thought the last g35/g37 front end was a little too feminine…too rounded, and i didn’t like the lights all that much…for some reason grilles don’t really stand out to me unless they’re really obnoxious…i pay much more attention to the shape and angle of the lights…this is a nice revision…

A couple of you guys mentioned Lexus. I’m not a big fan myself and I, generally much rather prefer German cars to Japanese cars. I’ve always felt strongly that many Japanese cars are little more than transportation appliances, which is fine because there’s a huge global market for them, but there’s only a miniscule market for them in my heart. Most of the Lexus lineup is indeed boring and in some cases extremely undesirable. In fact, there are only a handful of Japanese cars that I’ve liked over the years. That being said, I must admit that I find the IS and the GS to be very nice-looking cars. The IS particularly is very well designed, and the GS is a force to be reckoned within it’s segment. I’ve always thought that if Lexus were to take the IS’s shape exactly the way it is and make it longer, wider and taller that it would make a beautiful GS and/or LS replacement.

Well , we can all blame mercedes and bmw for the “corporate face” as they are the oldest that did and still have it to this day, all these automakers want to be mercedes and audi and bmw for what? why can’t they have there own distinct look? you guys arent the only one that thought this was an infiniti M article again……..Dont get me started on Cadillac and Lincoln…geez……

Seems like the engineers finally listened to people — get rid of that hideous orange/red LCD driver information center. It appears to use white fonts/graphics to match the white lettering used in the tach + speedo.

Makes me want to get a 2010 model upgrade to my 08 G37S 6MT just for that vast improvement to the driver console …

i smell a freshly decayed thread that was bumped to the top of the list again…

btw, as far as the “corporate face” issue goes, blame bmw…their corporate face has been present on most of their models every year for decades…and bmw was the target of many of the upscale japanese brands…follows suit they would try to have some identity…although chevy isn’t in this price bracket, i do think having similarity in their grilles helps with brand identity…it’s not always bad…

I love the front, but I don’t think the rest of the car matches it now…the front looks new and modern, while everything behind the side mirrors looks old. I wish the infiniti website would post new pictures.

I think I fall right into the target demographic for this car. In the past, I’ve always tended toward products from Ingolstadt, Stuttgart, Affalterbach, and Munich, both for the refinement and the cachet that they offer over their Japanese counterparts. But I’ll be the first to say, Nissan/Infinity is making it increasingly difficult by offering so much for such a reasonable price, and in a relatively stylish package to boot.

I really like this car now! Buick with 6 cylinders will cost you as much and it is not drivers car. This is really hitting the G spot.

It’s a beautiful machine – I hope the folks that set up the audio controls will see fit to separate the bass adjustment from the subwoofer level. Being somewhat of an audio buff, the bass is either too high which muddies up the rest of the spectrum or too low, giving a tin can effect. If Infinity could implement the Acura sound system into the G37, it would be an astounding combination.
