The Infiniti G37 Sedan began life as the second-generation G35 Sedan in 2007. In 2009, the car's 3.5-liter V6 was replaced by a more powerful 3.7-liter unit, resulting in a new name for the car. The upgrade resulted in a price increase from $31,600 to $33,250, which helps cover the cost of the new seven-speed automatic transmission and the improved motor.

The G37 is also offered with Infiniti "intelligent" all-wheel drive system. Adding Infiniti's all-wheel-drive system (making it a G37x) bumps the price of entry to $35,750. In both variants, the engine delivers 328 horsepower at 7000 rpm and 269 pound-feet of torque at 5200 rpm.
The G's second generation FM ("front mid-ship") platform features a four-wheel independent suspension system with lightweight aluminum components and improved body stiffness.
Available advanced technologies include RearView Monitor, a touch screen navigation system with available real-time traffic and the audiophile-quality Infiniti Studio on Wheels by Bose, combining the industry's first 3-way front door speaker array using 10-inch woofers with an audiophile quality head unit incorporating a 24-bit Burr Brown Digital Audio Converter.
Inside, the interior design "offers a new level of modern warmth and hospitality," claims Infiniti. The G interior also offers unique features such as the white-and-violet Fine Vision gauge illumination and high-touch, textured aluminum-alloy trim with "Washi" (traditional Japanese handmade paper) patterning.
Comfort and convenience features include standard Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition, available Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS), wood trim and Intelligent Cruise Control with Preview Braking.
