Yea the 2.0t quattro is hella cheap compared to the competition but it’s so basic, I’d rather be in a fully loaded Accord. A fully optioned one will come out to be 41K, that’s with the titanium trim. AWD sedans used to be special but with the Ford Fusion AWD and the unknown new Suzuki SX4 AWD with its Swift-like handling, they’re not so special anymore. But… I’ll still take an Audi due to styling. ha ha…

Ahh, trust me
NO,they will not detect it or are they looking to detect the upgrade. The main supplier ARP actually works with Audi “unofficially”. It has been going on for years and if you do the research it is very reliable. Where do you think the boost for the new A3 with the 230hp output is coming from. Audi detunes their turbos in the A4 in the intrest of the V6.

One problem with your “chip” philosophy. It’s called ‘Voiding Factory Warranty’ on a 30k+ car.
Yes, some new chips are harder to detect. But I guarantee Audi is figuring out how to detect them.
Blow an engine with an aftermarket chip, your screwed.

Although I really really like Audis for look, feel, and driving characteristics, I pretty much do not trust any german engine over the long haul, or even the short haul. They feel great, are powerful, and fast, and they are hypersensitive to any minor variation, breakdown, and cost you an arm and a leg. The G35 looks like the car I would choose in this class if I had to lay my money down.

Judging by these numbers the A4 is very close to all the other competitors, and cheaper than all of them, and the Lexus you would all certainly include in this class gets its doors blown off. On top of it, the 2.0t engine is also available in the more exclusive, Jetta GLI, which stickers at 24,500, WAY below anything above, and just as fast.

and i wasnt pointing out the FWD A4, i dont even consider that an option, especially when 92% of buyers opt for the Quattro, including me. Quattro pricing starts at 30,000, Frontrak pricing starts at 28,000. 30,000 is still well below.

on top of it i guarantee there will be a turbo upgrade coming anytime soon which could blow the doors off of a V6 competitor. The 1.8t upgrade from years past pushed it to 340hp and 340 ft/lb of torque. Thats S4 numbers, with a lightweight engine by comparison.

Ok _ I have an 2.0t–and for
1. it is faster the the 3.2 in the 1/4 mile.
2. The fuel economy is greater then anything else, interior is the best as well.
3. Why would I pay even 2-3k more for a v6 when for $600 and an 1hr time, I can change the epu and get up to 260hp and loads of trq, and it is reliable,
Come on Guys lets really do the research if you want to talk profomance #.
4. Like the G35, great design, still has a cheap interior (not as bad as the last Gen), and to point out some ones comment on the rear seats. I’m 6’1 and I fit in my friends G35 coupe comfortable on a long trip.(do to the angle of the seats (better then some sedans).it was crazy how much room I had back there.

audi a3 + APR’s 2.0T K04 Turbo Upgrade = 300hp to 28,000 which undercuts this g35. this would be a valuable piece of information if you prefer a hot hatch. however, i won’t hate on the g35; this competition will bring change to the automotive market. it should also be noted that any added options to the a3 add up…. REALLY quick.

A4: Well to be honest, actually I have to disagree on the interior. The new A6 for example is nice looking but the buttons still creak and felt cheap compared to those in Lexus after a year or so in hot climate. As for the engine discussion above, the 2.0T is very nice indeed but noisy and being a turbo it felt like really pushing it when trying to pass a 3.0 V6 competitor. But let me say that I’d prefer the 2.0T over the 3.0+ for an Audi due to the EPA.

and like i said, a comparably-equipped model will cost LESS than the G35x. For the 35,000 you would pay for the BASE G35x and the 30,000 you would pay for the base 2.0t Quattro. It doesnt cost 5 grand for the premium package on an A4, so it would still easily undercut the price. Obviously i still agree the G35 is a great bargain, especially put next to the 3-series, which seemed overpriced for a long while, at least until the 335 came along. Give me a turbo anyday.

Slowest or not, its an acceptable engine, and definatly the most tweakable of any of the offerings across the board. You can find more upgrades for the 2.0t than youll EVER find for an infiniti, BMW, or benz. It is a good competitor and i know plenty of people that agree.

A4 – as much as I love Audi’s, when comparison shopping MOST folks who are looking at a V6 Infiniti with automatic & leather aren’t going to consider a comparably-equipped turbo-4 Audi 6-speed manual for the same money much less a V6 w/ no options for 4000K more…

We ignited an air-cooled VW magnesium engine case at a campsite once. Yes they burn DAMN BRIGHT and hot. It was like the sun came up in the middle of the campsite, and there is no way to put it out other than let it burn. The whole campground came over to see what it was. It was so bright the cops came from a neighboring town … apparently they could cite us for some infraction for doing it, but we claimed to all have been asleep and someone must have started the case afire in our fire ring. I don’t think they bought the story, but they let us off the hook.

I like the way the hood flows into the front fender arches… great lines. This brand has done a lot with the styling of this car, but the rest of their line isn’t nearly as attractive. It is a lot of car for the cash. I often thought the G-35 coupe was a better way to go than the 350Z.

I remember as a kid seeing my father toss a magnesium lawnmower flywheel into a fire. Hell of an effect. I hear air-cooled VW engine cases are also good for this… Certainly not good as an engine.

A 2.0t MT6 costs 28K, and a 2.0T MT6 Quattro starts at 30K. the AWD version of the G35 starts at 34K and doesnt even have a manual transmission offered. If youre dying for a power boost to the 2.0t, go to http://www.goapr.com and get the chip if you so desire.

Again, from previous posts, if you all don’t know that my (affordable) dream car is a Black G35 Coupe 6MT.. with the Brembos… it is! With that said, I can’t wait for the coupe to come out. They say, in ’09 it’ll have a new 3.7 Litre engine putting out 320+ HP. But with the advancements Infiniti has made with this sedan, I’ll be anticipating a lot.
