Leftlane readers, please welcome the newest addition to our editorial team: The 2011 Hyundai Sonata SE.

Clap, clap.

We’re excited to announce that this gleaming Venetian Red Sonata will be a member of our team for an entire year. Although we can’t promise it will be quite as shiny when we finally return the keys to Hyundai, we do promise to publish a lot of exciting content.

Our Sonata, listing at $26,015, includes the optional moonroof and navigation package and carpeted floor mats. With a 200-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, the Sonata offers a lot of value for the money – something the buying public seems to be noticing. But we’re most taken by the rich Venetian Red paint and the shapely four-door-coupe-but-with-rear-headroom style.

Stay tuned for a more comprehensive review, as well as a number of road trip features and regular vehicle updates. We’ll be taking the Sonata to various interesting and exciting places in the United States as our editorial team piles on the miles.

Got a suggestion for a road trip? Let’s hear it!

2011 Hyundai Sonata SE long termer mileage: 132 on July 2, 2010.
