General Motors has announced that several current Pontiac, Saturn and Chevrolet vehicles will be available with a fully integrated dealer-installed Apple iPod connection.
GM’s Personal Audi o Link iPod adapter is available for the Chevrolet HHR and Cobalt, the Pontiac G5 and Solstice and the Saturn Sky from dealerships. The system integrates the iPod into the vehicle’s head unit, which means that users will be able to select songs or playlists via the head unit or steering wheel radio controls while keeping the iPod out of sight.
The system runs $159 in the United States, plus installation, and is available immediately at all dealerships. GM expects to offer the system on more models by the end of the year, making it one of the few automakers to offer a fully integrated system on such a wide range of vehicles.
