Bring the Reflex concept to market as the next Focus. Bring the Iosis concept to market as a new Mercury model and FoMoCo can set back and count the money. These two vehicles alone could save Ford! Only change I'd make is do away with the swing up doors. Its all product. That's all they offer, that's what their business is all about: product, product, product. As fast as they brought the Ford GT to market, these two vehicles could be in showrooms spring 2008!

Ford should hold talks with Ford of Europe about co-operation. They could ask Ford of Europe for permission to bring some of their models into the US.
It is convenient that both companies have the same name even though they have no apparent connection. Ford of Europe has interesting, up to date models, which is exactly what Ford on America needs, so it's a no brainer.
Maybe there is an auto business consultant somewhere that could introduce the two companies.

I concur with Blah Blah Blah. But Volvo needs a Diesel engine (at least, on this side of the ocean I can't spot anything but gasoline engines)!

As far as I can tell the only reason Renault/Nissan is interested in a linkup w/ GM is because GM is relatively strong in China.

I'd rather see Ford pursuing deals in India or China then Europe - After all what have Renault/Nissan got that Ford can't do on its own?

Ford has great product in Europe, it needs more volume from Volvo and L-R and Ford NA and Mazda on its European platforms. If Ford NA took Ford Europes platforms the volume would be adequate and it wouldn't need Renault

Well we knew Ford has spoken with them before.... I think Ford just needs to design some better products. I know they say they have some in the pipelines....but maybe they need to figure out how to hurry them along. Everyone seems to think Carlos Ghosn is an automotive saviour....but last I checked, weren't Nissan's sales down? And Renault is not an international player since they do not offer any cars here in the US. So I guess an alliance is to either platform share (cause Carlos has said many times he will not be CEO of either GM or Ford) or hope they can have Carlos dabble in some of thier business....who knows.
