All because Acura is trying to keep up with everyone else as opposed to bucking the trend. Unfortunately Honda has set thereselves up for this. By moving Honda models into a somewhat premium league they need to further distance Acura. Gone are the days of the integra typeR, and the NSX. My thought is if they had any brains they would've just improved on the exsisting NSX formula. The handling was already spot on, it could've maybe used a little more power, not much else. I was fortunate enough to drive my old bosses, I was not disappointed. I took it down this great stretch of winding road and literally couldn't let the cars in front of me get far enough away. Very awesome car.

I have a berlina black 93 NSX sitting in my garage at home and I can tell all of you that this new NSX is going to be so far apart from the original it might as well carry a different name. I was absolutely dumbfounded when I heard Acura was going to make it front engine, although I wouldn't mind AWD at all. But a V10 or even a V8 just goes against everything the original NSX stands for which is an emphasis on light weight, handling, and daily drivability (<----not a word.....yet). With no mid-engine setup they might as well kiss most of the original NSX customers goodbye because they are not going to want a front engine V10 not at all. By the way that new design is clean but lacks any sort of unique touches, it just looks like a collage of a million other sporty design cues made famous by Japanese auto manufacturers.

This is another sad design from Honda. It looks like a cross between a late model Cougar and a RX8. They need to regroup in the design department, their current staff has run out of ideas.

acura really needs to just modernize the original, especially the rear end, its unique AND beautiful. Maybe the front wasnt anything to write home about but that long taillamp setup with the integrated wing was perfection.

DeansterTJ, you can use some HTML here. In these examples, replace "[" and "]" with ""
[b]<b>bold text</b>[b/]
<i>italic text</i>
underline text
[a href="URL"]<a href="www.leftlanenews.com" rel="nofollow">link text</a>[/a]

As far as the next NSX goes, this isn't it. This is someone's dream. With a nearly total lack of info from Honda, there's a lot of speculation going on, bordering on fantasy. Wait until 2009 for something solid from HMC.

The TSX is a sedan, the integra was a pretty little hatch and sedan. I bet TSx sales are nowhere near the level of Integra sales

BlackX I agree: the old one is still beautiful to this day, perhaps the nicest design to ever come out of Japan. I rarely see them on the road these days, so I'm assuming most are tucked away in humidity controlled garages. We still really don't know what the new NSX is going to look like. This picture tells us nothing, but unfortunately I'm starting to get the impression it will be nothing like the last one.

"The rendering comes from Japan's Best Car magazine." LLN: I really hope that this is a rendering because the styling looks very vague to me. I mean it's not bad. This design looks like a cross between a Ferrari 612 or F430 and the newly refreshed Mazda RX8 to me.

I know that the concept that came out of Honda/Acura a couple years back was supposed to be the next gen NSX that moved from the original mid-engined to a front engine setup and didn't look that good to me and apparently a lot of other people as well. I loved the looks of the old NSX, It was so original that if you saw one on the street it really stood out. This however won't and I don't think that's a good thing.
