Isuzu on the way out?

02/13/2006, 1:38 PM

By admin

Isuzu dealers are closing their stores in droves, leading some to speculate that the brand might be getting ready to exit the U.S. market. Isuzu had 436 dealerships on Jan. 1, 2004, according to data from Automotive News. Today it has 298. Moreover, dealers say they have heard nothing about new products in the pipeline. So is this the end of Isuzu in North America? Company reps say no, but as one Chicago dealer asks, “How could they not be leaving? There’s nothing to sell.”
