That car looks too big to use a 4 cylinder so putting it in would be a bad idea because anybody that buys it will complain. It does look good though

A four cylinder? So they think they can manufacture an Acura? Too funny. Maybe they’re thinking about a Cosworth 4-banger. either way, they are taking 2 steps forward with this design, and one giant step back if they throw batteries and electric motors in it.

In terms of hybrids, I’m surprised I haven’t seen anything like a mizer-chip, the antithesis to the power-chip. Sold stock, our engines are programmed to make great performance with acceptable milage. Why not reprogram for better milage and less power? I wager they can, but where’s the money in that?! Or how about something like Ferrari’s and other’s system where you turn the dial for daily, sport, or racing performance.

I have not liked Jag’s designs since the XJ220 was around. When i think of all the Luxury companies out there I almost never think of Jaguar. They have just been so boring to me lately, did they really think the S-type R was going to be real compitition for the M5 and the E55 AMG oh please. And the XK-R is nothing to the SL55 AMG. But i have to admit the C-XF is gorgeous. This is just the design that Jaguar needs to get back in the game. And a new XJ220 couldnt hurt much.

I doubt america will get the inline four. here in europe we get the 520i and e230 both with tiny engines with which the four pots will compete. Jags competitor to the s class is the XJ by the way.

- That 4-banger will need some serious power and a lightweight chassis. Maybe a larger version of the Mazdaspeed MX-5 turbo?, Otherwise Jaguar may have another “Cimmaron by Cadillac” on it’s hands.
- The X-Type should have been retired in 2005. There’s enough quality in Ford’s global part’s bin that could let Jaguar build a replacement and keep the costs down.

ummm yeah im pretty sure an XF coupe would eat up XK sales, and Jaguar cant afford to sell to practically identical models… but who knows, ford will have THREE similar crossovers when the explorer gets bastardized, and they cant even sell one.

If they offer a four-cylinder model…. from Jaguar I’d expect a 2.0-2.5 liter twin cam with around 250-280 horsepower, probably with a turbo or supercharger. It should have all the refinement expected from a modern British luxury car engine.

4cylinder ? A 2.5 4-cyl is about the size of BMW’s 528.
Any way who cares as true enthusuiasts won’t by that one.
Jaguar make it already. Then make a baby version to replace the uglay X-Type. An X-type modeled after the XF at the inherent lower price point will move faster than a mid size XF. IMO

Gorgeous concept, Callum is awesome. PLEASE don’t build a 4 cyl. Not sure about the coupe though, wouldn’t it eat into XK sales? Why not invest some money in the XK under the skin and put it up against the 6?

Being that its a competitor to the E class and the 5 series.. It shall be priced within the same range.
I always thought it would be a competitor to the S class, which is why i was considering it.
Either way im sure Jaguar would benefit from its production.
