I think you have seen the worst of Indian Engineers because whoever could not do anything in his country relocates to other countries, i think thats why they are in Australia driving taxis.

Uhm…who cares? These brands have been dead for over 10 years. Anyone worth their salt will look elsewhere for their vehicle of choice, be it Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Cadillac, or if they want to go ultra-luxury, Rolls-Royce.

I think it is partly right – ie new V8’s, XJ and XK-E but there is important stuff missing.

How about new (entry) engines to replace the venerable 3.0 V6? How about hybrid-petrol and/or hybrid-diesel engines? How about uprated 3.0 liter diesel engines? How about an XK replacement and or the rumored XK 4 door version which apparently enjoys interest from Tata? With regard to steel/aluminum choice for the XK-E, I think that has to be aluminum else the car will be overweighted – like the current XF. The 2015 XJ replacement isn’t that odd if you consider the car has been running on this chasis since 2003 and no major changes are expected for the restyled 2010 version….

Right, terminator, it’s common practice for a company to release a new bodystyle for a car in the LAST YEAR they’re producing it.

Can you name me ONE example where a manufacturer has done this?

What about a curry powered jag by 2016????? I’m not sure Tata will do anything good for jag/land rover. I’ve worked with a couple of Indian engineers and they would have to be the worst and most incompetent engineers I’ve ever worked with…..and I wasn’t building luxury cars!!!! There’s a reason why in Australia so many fully qualified Indian engineers are working at 7-11 or driving taxis…..they are as useful as ashtrays on motorbikes………….good luck jag/land rover…….you’ll need it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RIP.

I just dont like the idea of Tata a company who builds the cheapest car in the world owning Land Rover, a company who builds some of the most exoensive suv’s in the world, and jaguar a luxury car maker.

One of my neighbor just purchased a new XF, and drives it with a “look at me” attitude, always craning his neck to see whether people are looking at his car. I don’t have the heart to tell him that it looks like the next generation Taurus.

Rover and Jag have until 2011 to make themselves profitable per Ford Tata deal. After that Tata will decide which head/design/dick will roll. Those predictions and product plans are as solid as diarrhea. I am sure they were leaked to gain some job security.

Millionaires and billionaires buy Range Rovers, they are by far the nicest SUV on the market so do you think they wouldn’t buy one if it was 200k and as nice as any Bentley? It’s chump change for these people and Land Rover wants to bank on it. The Range Rover S/C already goes for about 100k.

Offering a new model right before a change is a common practice. You get the people that can’t wait another year until the new model comes out so they buy the new coupe only to turn around and sell it to get the new-new coupe when that comes out. It doesn’t effect costs much either because you’re usually just carrying over the technology to the updated model.

Uh, so Jag’s going to give us an XF coupe based on the current car ONE YEAR before the all-new model bows. With an F-type having just bowed, as well?

And Jag’s going to completely redesign the XJ in 2010, and then redo it again in 2015? Right.

And the next Range Rover goes 10 seasons on the current platform, only to get massive and more than double in price? Not when it outsells the LR3 at $25k more.

I think that LLN is talking out of its backside here.

You mean by 2030-2045, And who cares about Fuel it’ll probably make a gradual climb, I mean come on people spend more on a cup of coffee, and milk than gas. . After seeing the new Jag review on 5th Gear I’m actually excited to see the new cars when they arrive in dealerships here in the US.
