Now, not that your stub was exactly placable or informative even, I get the distinct impression you're a halfwit tosser who, in the words of Andrew Lang, "uses statistics the same way as a drunkard uses lampposts - for support, not illumination."

Clearly you were cranio-rectally inverted at birth and simultaneously have chronic diarrhoea to boot, since the bullshit you wrote makes no sense on Earth.

Who, pray tell, are all these people that suddenly love BMW styling? Nazi skinheads? Fascist skinheads? Your hundreds of cousins? Who?

So NO, you tit, leave British_Rover alone and realise the truth - it is not the 70's anymore.

Gather 'round everyone! You ready?

ONE...
TWO...
THREE...

"SHUT YO' FACE!"

PS - Jump off a bridge. 'n Take your own cockeyed pseudo-opinions with you. Asschasm.

@ $92,500 for the Jag why wouldn’t you just spend a bit more and get the Aston Martin V8 Vantage ($110,000)? Sure one is a convertible and the other is a coupe, but it’s an Aston Martin, who cares?

36chambers,

The reason BMW is selling so well is because of their former glory (the days before all this electronic nonsense), the cars are balanced, and most people are tools and will buy a BMW just because it has a blue roundel up front that says BMW, regardless how ugly the car or how anti-driver the UI may be (think iDrive). Only 1 of the 3 things is actually a positive attribute in regards to the actual driving of the car, and the other 2 are merely the public’s perception.

The public perceives Mercedes as a high-class car as well, but their reliability is shit, especially when compared to Audi or BMW. And people keep on buying Mercedes; does that mean that people buy Mercedes for their reliability? No, of course not. The same can be said about BMW: their cars a re ugly, but do people buy BMW’s for their looks? No.

Out of curiosity, where did you get this statistic showing that most people love the looks of the new BMW’s? From my personal thoughts, I nthink that BMW toned down bangles ‘flame surfacing’ design in the redesigned 7-series, as can be seen from the ‘softening’ of the E65 into the E66.

BMW's glory days of design was every single year until Chris Bangle came along. I have a theory that we actually works for some other car company and was infiltrated into BMW as a mole to screw up their design! :)

Lots of people do not like the look of the six series. Mr. Clarkson does not care for it one bit...

No one that I work with likes it either and that includes a former BMW/Mercedes salesman.

While the Jag is a better looking car than the 6 series, the Bimmer is a better machine and will hold its value better.

The closest competitor to the Jag is the Maserati Coupe/Spyder, which I would take over the Jag.

It has a Ferrari motor, and suffers the same poor resale value. You can get a 3 year old Maserati for under $60K. They make an unreal sound.

Have you had your vision checked lately??

I mean some of the current BMWs are ok but the 6 series in particular is very, very ugly. When you make it a convertiable it just gets worse.

Good point Macapp, for this price I would much rather have a M5 then the Jag. But on the other hand this price undercuts other convertables such as the XLR-V and the SL550.
