i have to say the XF looks absolutely fantastic. and if you look on any multi-national site you will see opinions of loads of people most of which have said that it is a beautiful car, not to mention a must have Jag. it could even rival Jag’s own XK

jackjimturkey – that’s only in America…

Ford doesn’t need to pay people here… Our Focus has been without fault bar a dodgy engine management light since 1999…

Our old Granada was without fault until age took the auto gearbox and it wasn’t worth repairing… Our Sierra was reliable too… In fact the only unreliable Ford we had was an old Escort which had occasional issues with cold starts…

My BMW has more issues than that and our Peugeot had more issues… I won’t get started on my mate’s Chrysler…

Mercs? Hmm… My uncle’s was in the shop all the time… both of them…

Honda? Well, here I concur… very reliable machines… I can’t fault them for reliability as I don’t know anyone who’s had issues with them as such – and I’m a member of the Type-R forums so exposure is not low… My friend has the UK’s only NSX-R…

BlazE: That doesn’t count. Only data that say ford (Or GM or Chrsler or BMW or anybody but honda) sucks are valid. Anything else just proves that Ford Or GM or Chrsler or BMW or anybody but honda)paid for the positive press.

tripleonefive is basically talking out of his ass; Ford’s reliability (in Europe at least) is much better than other marques such as BMW, VW, Merc etc in the reliability index… Jag itself is pretty shoddy:

Front end would have looked OK without the upward hood contours to accommodate the headlight assembly. Kind of looks like Star Trek’s Mr. Spock arching both his eyebrows at the same time.

Got into it a the NY auto show and I wasnt impressed with the interior but the exterior is very hot
Its still basically a Ford which means it sucks and is unreliable Hopefully Tata can make Jag better

I am starting to like the car, but the wire mesh grill kind of diminshes it. They should have tried a vertical bar grill with more pronounced circular headlights instead of those squinting Mazda 6 looking sets.

jack: exactly. And I don’t think the XF delivers. I went out briefly and saw a new Mondeo which I thought looked quite related to the new euro-spec Mazda6, and all I could see was the Volvo/Jag lines. So it looks like we got 4 sedans from the same basic design. I wonder what the new Lincoln sport sedan will look like…a variation of the same theme?

I am with jackjimturkey…this looks like the Volvo S80. i have seen the S80 in person and it was alright but just did not do a thing for me. I think the XF will probably be the same…and yeah that front end…
this is def for non-car people looking for what is new. In this segment I think the E class and the GS look the best. The 5 series is nice looking only with the M sportpacket, and the A6 is not bad but…

Good lord, griping about the lack of symmetry of the rear leaper badge is really stretching it in terms of criticism, isn’t it? I think this model is a bold step forward for Jag, and I’m sure the Indians will retain the new styling language.

A neighbor of mine has one, and I’ve tried to like it, but it is just not in the luxury car segment with it comes to styling. But hey, to each his own. Honestly, it would have made a great Ford Taurus replacement model in my eyes.

After writing that the cupholder in front can accomodate a super big gulp, from the local 7-Eleven, it occurs to me that I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Jag parked at a 7-Eleven!
