Spy photographers have spotted a prototype of the Jaguar XFR while out testing. Although styling differences from the standard XF are few, there are some subtle design cues that reveal this is a more sporting Jag.
The prototype caught in the photos appears to have a lower ride height than the standard XF, hinting at performance setup. 20 inch wheels — covering cross-drilled rotors — and quad-exhaust outlets further indicate that this is the XFR model. Other visual changes appear to be limited to a blacked-out front grille.
Power for the XFR is expected to come from a supercharged 4.2L V8, rated at about 500 horsepower — rivaling offerings from BMW and Mercedes-Benz. A hotter version of the XFR is rumored to be in the works — which will use a supercharged 5.0L V8 — and could output 600 horsepower. The XFR-R, or whatever Jaguar decides to name the car, is not expected for at least a few years. As for the XFR, our sources indicate that it should hit the market in the next 12-15 months.

Looks too much like a car for ordinary people.
Whither art thou, Jag style?
Jaguar and Ford are both broke so im sure this thing will be nowhere near an M5 or E63. Youre setting the bar really really high Ford. Why not aim for something like a Malibu or any other xxxx from GM?
LOL, you guys are funny!
Right. If an Audi RS8 can't handle that kind of heat, how can this Jaguar?
Do superchargers run cooler?
the headlights looks like the ones on the 05 Monte Carlo
Ford from what i have read is in trouble. The only thing keeping them afloat is their mustang and f-150. Jag has finally put their poor design policy behind them. This car looks good. But i hope jag leaves ford for good. Neither one of these companies help each other. Time to get a divorce.
Does anyone else see a buick grill on this jag
I typed in something about how lp640's mom would have preferred to make a bm that deliver him, but it got erased.
OK
than deliver him
LP640, why would Jag set the bar low? That's what got them in trouble in the first place. If Jag wants to make a comeback they need to go balls out offering equivelent or greater performing and exciting cars than the competition. The XFR is going to be a great performer and a Audi better watch out if they do a 600hp version.
The design is growing on me for whatever reason. I think it looks nice.
It's cool, but can't they make it cooler?
XFR sounds pretty cool, but "XFR-R" is going to be too late if it takes more than 3 or 4 years.
I love the rear and side profile of this. It's like a Lexus GS plus a DB9 rear. But the front of this car HAS TO GO. I agree…Monte Carlo headlights with a Hyundai grille.
The only Jag that doesn't even come close to looking like a Jag. The rear end is nice, but the front is too plain Jane.
It does not look like a cat. Jags had such classic proportion and lines in 70s that they inspired Benz in 90s. WTF is this copy of Infinity?
Is it for Indian market?
