Jaguar XKR GT3

01/11/2007, 3:35 PM

By admin

Apex Motorsport and Jaguar today revealed the XKR GT3 at the Autosport International Show in Britain. The Jaguar XKR GT3, featuring a 4.2 litre V8 supercharged engine, retains the aluminium body of its production cousin, but has had modifications made in line with the regulations.

The first car to be built by Apex Motorsport has already been sold to Stuart Scott, Managing Director of East Anglia’s most successful travel management company, Cambridge Business Travel. Scott, who has most recently been racing in the British GT Cup, will be driving the Jaguar in a program of six events with a yet-to-be-named co-driver. Gallery after the jump…

I wonder if this car can make it around Daytona faster than GMn14e can comment about how much more awesome NASCAR is than any other form of racing.

I am sure this car can make right turns . OOOOOOO thats something nascar cars can’t do. And i think you have to be in good shape in order to even get into the car, again unlike nascar to where a beer gut is ok as long as you can fit in the dang window.

ousbous55 you oviously do not watch nascar, if you did you would know that they race twice a year on a road course. But back to the real reason for theis post, the Jag is a sweet looking car but it’s no Aston Martin DBR9.

CTS DRIVER you would last 1 hour doing what they do, and none of the driverss have a beer gut. Do us all a favout and think before you say something stupid.

^ I can tell you that I KNOW for a fact that the Jaguar will be 100x more reliable than any aston in production.

As for the NASCAR comment.
You are right that many people wouldn’t last 1 hour doing what they do. Neither would I if you put me in a car and tell me to go in circles(im sorry, ovals) 500 times a race. You have any idea how dizzy i’d get?
In all seriousness, Im a fan of all motorsports from all over the world except for three of them. NASCAR, Dirt Track Racing, & Spring car racing. All originate from the southern part of the U.S and will put the average person with an I.Q over 30 to sleep faster than they can reach 60mph. Im sorry, but that’s just my opinion. I don’t think it takes much skill to do what they do and believe that they are given way more credit(and endorsment $$$) than they deserve.
This is coming from someone who can’t relax & enjoy a nice half hour of anything else other than NASCARTV on SPEED channel anymore. Flame on.

Not a flame, since it is plain truth, but piloting a car with little aerodynamics tightly in a pack of others at 190 mph takes skill AND balls. I love most all forms of motorsport, including dirt/sprint racing. Sprint cars have extremely high horsepower to weight ratio and take vast amounts of skill to race.
I have no problem with people not enjoying NASCAR. But to claim they are fat out of shape and no talent is just flaming itself or totally uneducated.

I don’t think this POS could handle a stock Vette, let alone a Z06. Hopefully it comes with its own tow truck.

I guess I agree with you on the needing to have balls to do 190mph in a pack of others. But you have to keep in mind that they are on enbankment which keeps the car planted at high speeds for the most part. On top of that, the wheel alightment on the cars is set on 98% of the tracks for left turns, meaning if you put the car on flat ground and keep the steering wheel level, the car will cut left. Im not saying it DOESN’T take any skill, just very little in the world of motorsport when you compare them with any other type.
Another thing that pisses me off is how much the sport is focused on endorsements and advertising, it’s disguisting.

Buy the way, the whole uneducated comment you made. If you want to see uneducated? Watch a NASCAR press conference the next time you get a chance and you’ll see worst representation of the English language you could possibly imagine.

You need to watch a interview with a player after a basketball game! I used to like NASCAR, but I haven’t watched it now for the past 5 to 7 years now. Just don’t care about it anymore. Infact I don’t follow any racing series anymore.

I would echo the NBA comments and the english language.
Uneducated interviews from NASCAR drivers? Southern drawl doesnt = hillbilly.
Ever listen to a NASA event?
The banked turns allow the cars to maintain higher speeds, they do not turn the car for the driver, the suspension set up is in deference to to tire wear and to compensate for the lack of aeros. But close racing and passing is exciting weather its in a right hand off camber turn or a left hand high banker. I dont normally sit and watch every lap of every race but I do try to catch some of the bigger races.
My preference is road racing (not open wheel) but if it goes fast I like it.

^ I never said it was to turn the car, but to help keep them planted at high speed on turns. Maybe Im just saying it wrong. Ehhh whatever lol.
