Jaguar drag races i-Pace against Tesla Model X [Video]

The I-Pace can rival the Model X 75D, though it falls short against the flagship Model X 100D.

Jaguar has filmed a few tests of the new I-Pace electric SUV against the Tesla Model X.

With 394 horsepower and 512 pound-feet of torque, the I-Pace aims to establish the brand's performance credibility in the EV market. The company claims a zero-to-60 mph benchmark of 4.5 seconds.

A promotional video shows an acceleration and braking test up and down from zero to 60 mph against a Model X 75D. The I-Pace finishes the softcore race a car-length ahead.

The Tesla Model X can launch to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, easily outpacing Jaguar's high-riding EV.

The I-Pace will be among many new models in Geneva next week.
