True it does have to start somewhere, but a Diesel will never Sound as good as a Petrol in my opinion, to other people they might, but I think the sound of a van should stay in vans and not dilute good car names...

Yes, passion has to start somewhere. Just like it did with the Ferrari beater GT40, the first pony car Mustang, the car that put everyone on wheels to Model T, the Ford 427, the fast back Cobra, The Lamborghini Countach the car every kid has a poster of on his wall, the car that started the Muscule car era. There have been NO notable cars from every day car makers like listed (besides for Lamborghini Countach). Now where is the passion? It isn't here! What existing cars are passionate that are affordable? NONE you have to pay 145,000$ for a good supercar (the Ford GT)

"...I would like to see Jaguar sold to a diesel maker."

In Europe, Jaguar has several Diesel Options, as an example: The X-Type can be bought with a 2 Liter engine that gives it a acceleration of 9.5s to 60mph. The mileage is typical of a Diesel in this category, 36mpg in city and 61.4mpg in extra-urban.

yeah, that is if JCB buys them. All I care about is if they make Jaguar return to glory, I like the older Jags. But lately they just haven't been... phenomenal.
But there is one problem. Jaguar isn't making money, but even worse doesn't it use alot of Ford parts? It will take ALOT of work to turn Jaguar around.
Anyways this is pretty cool news. Diesels are good besides for the smog issue.

Yes, all Jaguar needs is Lord Lucas - Prince of Darkness, to completely kill them off. Hopefully JCB can turn them around.

It only took the Brits four generations to figure it out: If you sever all connections with their Prince of Darkness by going to compression ignition... And - they made sure they picked a demonstration area where it's not raining ... just in case.

Congrads.

....too bad Ford didn't do it foist; they cudda used the bump.

At these speeds a diesel is the best. You've got the Torque to push through the wind resistence and gobs of it at that.
I love Diesel. I just wish more car companies in the US would offer it. I would like to see Jaguar sold to a diesel maker.
