Following its debut last month at the Houston Auto Show, Jeep’s as-of-yet-unnamed production-intent Grand Cherokee concept has arrived at the Chicago auto show.

Based on the Grand Cherokee’s Laredo X trim level, the yet-to-be-named model features several unique design cues to give it a “blacked-out†look. Those changes include a black grille surround, Platinum Chrome mesh grille, black headlight bezels, black liftgate light-bar and, of course, 20-inch black rims.

Inside the concept sports leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 9-speaker audio system complete with iPod connectivity and a subwoofer, rear backup camera and Chrysler’s handsfree Uconnect system.

“ Jeep enthusiasts have always appreciated limited-edition models and the ability to customize their vehicles,†said Mike Manley, President and CEO of the Jeep brand. “This new Grand Cherokee comes with a unique, ‘factory-customized’ stealth appearance directly from Jeep, and is certain to attract interest from an array of potential customers.â€

Although still technically a concept, Jeep expects the SUV to arrive in showrooms this spring.

“Name My Ride†contest
The concept is currently without a name, but that won’t be the case for long. In addition to the concept’s debut, Jeep also unveiled its latest “Name My Ride†contest at the Houston show.

Jeep enthusiasts will be able to submit names for the production version of the Grand Cherokee via the Web site via Jeep.com/namemyride. One lucky winner will be chosen in the coming weeks, with a chance to win a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee on the line.
