General Motors board member Jerry York is now convinced the Saab and Hummer brands are good for the automaker, according to a report today by Reuters. In early January, York said he thought GM should kill off at least two brands, naming Saab and Hummer as candidates. Early this month, Mr. York was elected to the GM board of directors. GM executive Bob Lutz said today York is now privy to new information, and backs Saab and Hummer.

Kill Buick, and kill GMC… GMC has never made anything different from Chevy. So why keep it? Buick…well, the only cool car ever made by Buick was the Grand National… unless they are going to make another

don’t kill any.

the cost to develop brands is astronomical. the cost to keep them is miniscule in comparison.

and GM’s fortunes will turn around. remember, how many times have people pronounced apple computer dead? and at 5% market share, they still control the mindset for personal computers. as an apple adherent once said, BMW only has 5% (or less) – should they go out of business?

GM will be back.
