Mr. Press? The same Mr. Press that, until a few months ago, was at TOYOTA, the other company that is forecasting a small pickup with their A-BAT concept? Now THAT's original thinking!

Ironhide, if it weren't for pick-ups none of us would have a damn house to live in. My father uses his truck to haul 15,000lb loads of construction material all the time. If possible, try to think once in a while, it helps.

Anyway, about the mini trucks, bring back the Chevy Luv!

Heh, maybe they could release a "RAMBO" edition M80 pickup? I like it, it's a departure away from the "Freightliner" styling of the mid '90s that's carried on to today. Don't get me wrong, I like the lines of those trucks (after all, I own a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500), but now they're just bulbous and ugly, IMO. It's time for change.

Seriously, though, it looks like they're waking up and realizing what the market had 25 years ago - a good selection of compact trucks, some even offered with diesel engines (are we listening, Chrysler?)

I was (and still am) fed up with the way Daimler-Benz ran the Chrysler Corporation. They cut spending costs on EVERYTHING in the Dodge/Plymouth/Chrysler line and they KILLED PLYMOUTH. It cheapened everything to the point that the Chrysler vehicles became some of the least reliable vehicles on the market - and have the lowest resale value.

Hopefully, Cerebrus can steer the Chrysler corporation in the right direction - and it looks like they'll succeed, so long as they follow through on their concepts, like this truck. Limit production on the Challenger, and focus on vehicles like the ZEO and the M80, and Dodge will be steered straight for the future.

Being the pick-up truck capital of the world, I'm surprised that the compact pick-up segment was abandoned in the first place. Dakota was always a midsizer, Frontier and Tacoma grew out of the market, and the Ranger was left for dead.

With the CHEAPEST of trucks (desirable, not bare bones) coming in around 20k, there is prime real-estate for a compact truck between 14-20. It's as much a no-brainer as you could get.

I saw RAMBO this weekend...Forget what most critics are saying...it kicked ass. Better than most other movies I've seen this past year. In my opinion, much better than THERE WILL BE BLOOD, which is up for a ton of awards.

If you like Braveheart, Saving Private Ryan, or Blackhawk Down, you'll like RAMBO.

Wouldn't it be funny if Toyota made a smaller Tacoma and called it the Taco.
Sounds like a plan.
The A-Bat by Toyota was only the length of a Rav4, so Toyota sees the potential.
First come....

All the truck makers need to get on board ASAP.
But if they want to sell them in large quantities make them good looking, offer some with 4 doors AND offer long beds that can actually haul stuff.

Hello? I've been saying this for YEARS. Now that gas prices are high, and the green-weenies are gaining traction, we'll see an actual compact pickup! Chrysler really should have made that M80 pictured here. C'mon, someone please make something to replace my loved Chevy (isuzu) LUV!! Still going strong at 20yrs old, and gets almost 30mpg hwy...no reason that someone couldn't make a decent replacement for all those old Toyota & Nissan pickup owners. The newer ones are just too big and too inefficient. Just make something that will haul large objects in the bed, and make it light and efficient. All the delivery, landscapers, pool guys, utility companies, forest services, construction/contractor guys, Home Depot nerds will LOVE you for it!

This is a great opportunity for Ford to roll out the re-engineered/re-designed NEW F-100 (Ranger) with a diesel and a six speed tranny. This way they could get 200k plus more sales a year, not bastardize the F150/Superduty segment, and add F-series sales to the "advertised number". I just hope they don't kill the Ranger. Well its a great idea.....Ford probably won't do it.
