The Amanti is Kia's flagship sedan, and after its introduction in 2004, has aged with little or no major changes. The engine has been upgraded to a bigger, more powerful one for 2007, but 2008 sees no changes to the big sedan.

The only powertrain available is a 3.8 liter V6 driving the front wheels via a five-speed automatic transaxle, with Kia's Sportmatic shifting. The big V6 makes 264 horsepower at 6,000 rpm along with 260 lb-ft at 4,500 rpm. Fuel economy is rated at 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway by the EPA.

There is only one way to have your Amanti, though you can spice it up further with a few option packages. The only stand-alone options are a sunroof and cargo mat. As you'd expect a flagship Kia to be, it comes very well equipped. Buyers get an 8-way power driver's seat with lumbar, 4-way power front passenger's seat, dual zone automatic temperature control, AM/FM/Cassette/CD with 8-speakers,16 inch tires and 9-spoke alloy wheels, dual front advanced airbags, front and rear seat-mounted side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system, fog lights, cruise control, front and rear 12-Volt power points, auto-dimming rear view mirror with HomeLink remot and remote keyless entry and alarm.

A Wheel package involves an upgrade to 17-inch tires on 7-spoke machined alloy wheels; an Electronic Stability Control Package includes electronic systems to aid in stability, traction and brake assist; a Leather Package with cowhide seat trim, heated front seats, 2-position memory for driver's seat and outside mirrors, power operated and heated outside mirrors with auto tilt-down, an Infinity AM/FM/6-CD in-dash sound system with 9 Infinity speakers including front and rear tweeters and subwoofer and a 4-inch display monitor showcasing trip distance, time and outside temperature. Finally, a Premium package nets black interior trim to match the black leather seats, a Supervision meter cluster, power adjustable pedals, brushed aluminum interior bits and the 17-inch wheel and tire package.

As with all Kias, the Amanti includes a 10-year / 100,000 mile limited powertrain warranty, a 5-year / 60,000 mile limited basic warranty, 5-year / 100,000 mile limited anti-perforation warranty and a 5-year / 60,000 mile 24-hour roadside assistance.
