midsize and larger cars should be rear wheel drive for safety reasons. This car is likely to have a torque-steer problem that has the potential to pull the car straight into a tree/poll or a ditch or an other car if the torque steer causes the driver to loose controll of the car. Torque steer only occurs in front wheel drive vehicles. If the driver loosens his/her grip on the steering wheel at the wrong time even for just a second or even less than a second, the torque steer can take controll of the car and take it straight off the road or into cars in other lanes. The torque steer effect is the most dangerous on Interstate highways because of the high speeds. the higher the speed the higher the torque steer. bigger cars require a bigger engine to power them and that eatra power feeds the torque steer.

I don’t want to sound like a douche, but the rear end looks like Audi’s, it looks like a Ford Mondeo from the side and the front… actually looks quite decent.

Overall it just looks too much like a Mondeo to me.

I actually like it’s simple approach to design but not the out-of-place body creases. Simplicity and quality in this segment is what helped Toyota launch to the top. Although, I’m not sure that formula is entirely appropriate anymore. Either way, this will be an image boost for Kia. But as others have said, it does kind of muddy Hyundai/Kia’s long-term strategy. I think they should have replaced the odd Amati with this.

Decent looking car, but once again, Kia/Hyundai looks confused on what it wants to do
Where is it going?
They described it’s target market, and design parameters the same as the Susuki Kizashi
Why not have this replace the Optima?
If you are going to have a sedan above it, make this a large mid-sized family sedan
With 4-banger and V6 power?
The new Sonata would be a family sedan for the more extroverted sedan shopper
This could target the conservative bread-and-butter market

This is why I don’t sweat Hyundai/Kia
They have talent
Just no brains
No balls either, really

Alright Kia!

The rear end is very nice looking along with a quite unique (for one) body side.

The front is where it gets messy, too many SOFT lines there. The body side and rear have crisp creases, but the front is filled with radius’d edges and lines..

I think the big grille could work!

theres nothing new about the design but it is well proportioned and executed. clean cut lines and bit too architectural for my likings, probably due to ex vw/audi designers but overall this is far better than any toyota honda or ford offerings interms of aesthetic point of view

I don’t know why this is near luxury. That is Hyundai’s game, so why should Kia create a sedan in the same vein as the Azera? Plus, why are they going for the mid size market when the Optima is already playing that game in a similar price range? Other than that, nice vehicle.
