It doesn't say whether it is FWD or RWD.

I would certainly consider if it was RWD. I hope they can keep the weight down.

The grille is definitely an issue.. why would Kia decide to make this their new family face when the chrome outline shape of the grille is actually an "H"?? This should be the Hyundai face!

Suzuki's Escuda Pike's Peak had a 2.0L V6 that made over 900hp. Besides I'm seeing trends in engine's going smaller displacement not larger, necessarily. Though American Sports cars trend larger, many newer or smaller companies world wide go smaller.

Recall that the MAZDA MX-3 had a 1.8 V6 when it first came to American. It was ahead of it's time and It could have stayed in Japan a few more years to work out durability issues. Today I don't think it would be much of a problem.

And If you think that a 2.0L V6 is ridiculous, consider the Connaught type-D GT's 2.0L V10. However a very limited production engine, only 100 units, it is still a very cool little engine. Then there was that Callaway 4.0L V16 racing engine.

The engines are going to get smaller to save weight but also to prove technical achievement.

Not a huge fan of the name or the rims, and I agree about getting rid of the divide in the C-pillar.. but otherwise, pretty decent. Interesting that they're going to have a 2.0 liter V6 though. That's tiny! That would be more hilarious though if it does indeed put out more power than the 2.7 V6 that Hyundai still has in cars.

Ridiculous name. Enough said about that.

Actually this design is not bad; there are just two design elements that need work. The first one is the grille. Why do Hyundai and Kia have so much trouble coming up with decent grilles for their vehicles. The grilles run the gamut from boring (Sonata, Optima) to bizarre (Veracruz, Kee). On this car, the gap between the two "lips" in the middle of the grille looks weird. Maybe if they moved the Kia badge down between the two "lips", it would look much better. The avant-garde C pillar window treatment needs work; I think it ruins the flow of the design having a break in the C pillar. It sort of reminds me of the Subaru coupe with the window within a window design foolishness from the early 90's (and we know what a success that car was). Other than these two missteps, this isn't a bad attempt by Kia.

Utterly disappointing given the 'promise' of the earlier shots...

The overall silhouette is just more of the same i.e. boring, and the detailing is just overdone and silly.

Maybe next time...

A few goofy design elemnets, but otherwise a nice unique design. There is some R8 in there, and some other bits and pieces, but overall a great effort from a company not yet known for bold design. So Hyundai is going upmarket luxury, and Kia is going for the sport market. Not bad!
