Kia KND-4 concept

04/05/2007, 12:17 PM

By admin

Kia unveiled its all-new KND-4 concept car at the Seoul International Motor Show this week. The crossover “hints at the increasingly sophisticated styling and advanced technologies” that will appear in future Kias, Yong-Hwan Kim, Senior Executive Vice President and COO said.

The KND-4 reflects a future design language that aims to give Kias a “stronger and more distinctive road presence.”

“Over time, elements of this concept SUV will evolve into our next-generation lineup, ensuring continued popularity of our already competitive 4×4 models,” he said.

I like the lines of it, and the frameless windows. Looks like KIA might bring the scIROCco concept to life sooner than VW! The rear end is a bit unusual, but the nose is clean and well proportioned. Not bad KIA, not bad at all.

It’s buildable and nice, but very few concepts make it on the road with even a slight resemblance to their Auto Show or artist concept heritage.

I have been applauding their latest designs but this one fails miserably.

it’s pretty cool, but it’s just going to end up as a kia rondo. i wouldn’t be surprised if that car started out as a half-decent concept itself.

the front would suit better a sedan…the rear is ugly, but overall it’s a good attempt

This looks more Subaru than the new Impreza and Tribeca combined! Since Korean cars are always criticised for copying bland Japanese and Euro designs, maybe this is a smart new direction copying discarded but distinctive Subaru traits!

The grill treatment on this reminds me of a Lincoln Zeph…MKZ. I still like the concept, however.

I think Nissan’s last few production SUVs, not the Bevel. This looks nothing like the Bevel (Thank goodness). But it is cute, combining previously used elements that work well together bridging those with new elements as needed. The color choice is youthful and happy.

I could like it.

To me this seems more like a young persons car. It remminds me a lot of the Kia 97 sportage i have sitting in the drive way. Also those few who say that “Its still a Kia” my Sportage has lasted me for 11 years now and biggest problem I had was the emission standard sensor went off every once in a while.
