Kia KND-4 concept

11/15/2007, 2:36 PM

By Drew Johnson

Kia has unveiled its KND-4 concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show. While it remains unclear if the unveiling was planned or a result of the damage to the Kia Kee show car — Kia’s North American CEO Len Hunt joked that the display was being finished just seconds before the curtain dropped — the KND-4 concept gives an indication of what future Kia SUVs will look like.

Details on the show car remain scarce, but Kia did reveal that it is powered by a 2.2L clean diesel — details of which will be revealed within the year.

I love this revival of the 1960s Italian sports car wheel. These are Lamborghini Muria-esque.

Freakish. Reminds me of the old Isuzu Vehicross.

Why is the side glass on so many new vehicles getting so narrow? Pretty soon there will be barely enough room to flick your butt out the window. Mind you, most of them don’t even come with ashtrays anymore so I guess it all works out in the end.

Bet you feel like sitting in a bath-tub with that little glass. The C Pillar reminds me of the Ssongyang (Not the prettiest thing on wheel).
