Production Kia Telluride to retain bold styling from concept?

The unique shape previews a shift in Kia\'s design language for high-riding models.

Kia is reportedly following through with plans to revamp its SUV design language, shifting to a new look previewed by the Telluride concept.

Unveiled in Detroit two years ago, the Telluride was initially presented as a design study. Designers embraced a more imposing form blending boxy edges and sculpted curves.

The Telluride's grille and lighting clearly mesh with Kia's current lineup. The company is expected to bring many of the Telluride's more striking characteristics into production, according to Motor Trend.

The Korean automaker is apparently confident the big three-row SUV can serve as an aesthetic anchor for the brand's smaller SUVs and crossovers in coming years, eventually trickling down to the Sorento, Sportage and Soul.

Pre-production prototypes have already been spotted on the road, but a timeframe for showroom arrival remains unclear.
