Hah!

The Stig!!!!

I read about his "Off" at the Top Gear track. I think many of you see the CCX the way I did a few years ago. Just some other high dollar sports car thats more kit than car, rather unfinished and unpolished. But recently, Koenigsegg has definitely stepped up there game, they are putting the numbers down that they claimed, and the car is now smoother and more balanced than ever. I praise Koenigsegg for the amount of effort and work they've put into this car.

And in person, this car is very beautiful. Extremely low and wide and actually rather subtle. Someone mentioned the Enzo was beautiful. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder but you will rarely see a magazine call and Enzo beautiful...and having seen those in person, I agree. Not pretty IMO.

Now, I love this car... but 800bhp out of a 4.7 V8 isn't all that...

There's a 2 litre YB Cosworth Engine in an Esky Cossie in Norway that puts out 872bhp @ 2.6 bar boost... with 2.8 bar you'd have 920bhp, but best not to... Now THAT power from a 2 litre 4 pot is awesome ;) T88 Turbo though - Imagine the lag!

As for the fellow who said he'd rather an AC Cobra 427 than this - if that's the case you should opt for the Weineck Cobra LE... The limited edition 780cui (12.9 litre) V8 puts out 1100bhp N/A and the car weighs under 2200lbs. This means it hits 124mph in 4.9 seconds and 300km/h in 10 seconds! I think the top speed is above 254mph too (the 10 litre original hit 250 mph!)

Yes, it's road legal, but has no ABS, ESP Blah blah, and it is very very limited with a production run of 15 cars!

I heard it was BioDiesil, not E85, that gave the CXX the power boost because of its higher octane rating (since its near the level of octane in race fuel).

After being converted, do you think it'll have the same performance numbers? No, not at all. If car brands could make a car without having to worry about INTERNATIONAL regulations, then a lot more cars would be far more superior to your McLaren. The Koenigsegg doesn't need to be sanctioned for US markets simply because it doesn't need to be. It meets US regulations from Sweden, where it's made. Comparing European versions of both the CCs and F1s, the CC would pass a lot more (if not all) regulation tests.

yo ANONYMOUS, u gotta smarten up, one of the main reasons for creating the ccx was to raise the roof line, while lowering the center of gravity, a. to accomodate larger people and b. to meet US speculations, as well as a handful of other modifications that had to be made from the ccr. Obviously, they gastly imporoved this car from the ccr, however, koensegg themselves stated, this car is 100% intended for US markets, and as a matter of fact, the intention of bringing it to US markets, sparked the interest of creating the ccx, rather than a completly new car

ohhhhh, had always thought E85 had a lower octane rating, however, i guess that makes sense since it's got gasoline, then 15 percent ethanol, which defintly is higher then regular gasoline octane, i figured they just used gas for there tests, i didn't think they'd be off by 100 horsepower

"My question, on Top Gear they claimed it to run at 900 horsepower using E85, is this 800 figure using regular fuel, or is it using the E85, and if so, y the change of 100 horsepower, i know it says 800+, but Koensegg was claiming in excess of 900 horsepower on Top Gear"

I don't know if I'm answering exactly what you're asking, but E85 has higher octane ratings than gasoline, so if you use E85 in a car (obviously has to be an E85 capable car lol) then it'll get better numbers than normal gasoline. I'm pretty sure Koenigsegg uses gasoline in their base cars for testing and recording.

panda, i nvr said i wanted them to put a W16 in it, which is wat the veyron has, idk if that was a typo on your part or just wrong information, my point was, i think it's pretty amazing that they could engineer that much horsepower out of a relitevely small displacement engine and half the cylanders of the veyron, by no means did i say i wanted koegsegg to use a W16 in the car, simply stating the enginerring feat they accomplished, considering you've got other engines, again, no way am i comparing the mustang to the ccx, but a 5.7 V8 in the mustang, has 500 horsepower, compared to the 800 in the 4.7 V8 in the CXX, however, obviously, horsepower doesn't mean shit when comparing cars side by side.

Stop comparing this, or any car, to a McLaren F1. It's just ignorant. The only reason it's better than newer cars today is because a car like that would never be allowed to be produced for America cause of America's safety and emission ratings, so stop comparing them. This car is amazing, and to be honest, I think it's one of the best looking cars in the world. And the fact that it's made by a tiny company barely alive for 10 years, only makes it better.

i also think that the koeg has brilliant engineering. but i also hate how people say that thay wish a certain car company used the w12 because they could squeeze out more horsepower. but dont forget that the veyrons w12 is the same size as a v12. same amount of cylinders and they got 1000hp when other supercars with this size get around 600. o ye i do realise that the veyron has 4 turbos. but i just wanted to post that point.

Y the hell does everybody keep talking about what they'd rather have on this post. Very few people have actually made a comment on the car other then how it ugly it looks or what they'd rather have.

My question, on Top Gear they claimed it to run at 900 horsepower using E85, is this 800 figure using regular fuel, or is it using the E85, and if so, y the change of 100 horsepower, i know it says 800+, but Koensegg was claiming in excess of 900 horsepower on Top Gear

Personally, i think the car shows a great engineering feat, getting 800 horsepower out of a 4.7 V8, by no means will that double had they used a 9.4 V16, but it makes you wonder what kind of figures they would create using something more on the scale of the veyron, and had they had a little more funding as well as research and development

To me, this is more of what you'd think of as a supercar, lots of power in a very small package, and not much extra 'stuff' unlike the veyron. The veyron's a remarkable car, however i think the veyron kinda competes in another league, having some what luxary as well as the super exotic car aspect in one package, not that there really is anything to compete with the veyron

Dang aaron...
The kid was just asking a question, he wasn't claiming that he knew it or was bashing the car. All you could have done was correct him but not in that kind of tone.
We are all here to talk and learn about cars. Relax.
