Oh and if you need another reason to use E85 rather than high octane fuel, go to the petrol/gas station and compare the prices. for example in the uk 104 high octane petrol = £1.15 per ltr or for you american out there that would work out as $7.69 per gallon. But E85 is 48p per ltr OR $3.20 per gallon.........a saving of 68p a litre/ $4.49 a gallon is incentive enough for me to change!!!

Pretty cool, but enough with this E85 garbage already. Who gives a xxxx? It’s pointless

CA36GTP why exactly are you saying that, im guessing cos you are afraid of change, afraid of science, things you dont understand. Look im no treehugger who loves E85 cos its good for the planet but i aint no stupid redneck yahoo like you obviously are. Try researching before you slag something off mate, you might learn something and stop yourself looking like a complete T***
If anything E85 is a god send to lovers/owners of supercars. Its economic and dirt cheap so it cost you less to run your beautiful twin turbo 4.7 V8 engine. Its made from sugar so its good for the environment. And here come the best bit, It has a higher octane content than petrol, even high octane petrol.
Look at it this way, you put petrol in the CCXR and the engine runs at 806bhp if you put E85 ethanol biofuel in it, it runs at 1018bhp......doesnt that kind of say something about E85!....A) its not garbage B) its not pointless and C) WE SHOULD ALL GIVE A XXXX!!!

That's Right Planet_drive! Still based on Ford engine architecture! Thank you JJT!! Lol actually PD, I stopped reading the comments halfway into it so I didn't read entirely. But it's all good. I guess I'd probably be pissed if JJT proved me wrong. lol

SS you idiot, don't you read? They stopped using Ford engines because it was crap. It was costing the company too much money replacing the customers engines. They make their own engine, their own design a blend of sweedish and german engineering. This bad ass car is NOT powered by an American engine.

Haha who would ever thought thought that this amazing Swedish supercar would be powered by a Ford Duratec engine? Not dissing the engine at all, I just think it's funny though that this bad ass car is being powered by an American auto company's engine!

Anyway, Ford Duratecs are fairly damn reliable... Our Zetec has been for the past 7 years, and Noble have been using Ford Duratecs, but may opt for another engine soon for more power (Was it Volvo?)

^ill will what the hell is wrong with you? I don't understand why you get so offended? are you one of those pathetic ford fans that gets upset at any negative comment about Ford? Stop being pathetic and stop supporting some corporation that couldn't care less if you live or die. Christian von Koenigsegg has mentioned in several interviews for European auto magazines and shows that the reason he stopped using Ford engines is due to reliability issues. The constant breakdowns of the engines was getting expensive for his company. It was actually cheaper in the long run to develop his own engine that will run stronger and more reliably. He also mentioned that the Ford engines in his earlier cars have already reached the max power that it can handle, not enough for future projects. So next time try to do a bit of research and stop being such a goof, your comment only shows your insecurities for a corporation that doesn't even know you exist. Loser!

Didn't they hold the title of "fastest production car" back in 2005 with that ford engine (beating the McLaren f1! i dont see this new "incredible piece of machinery" beating the Shelby-supercars or Bugatti champs)? So, please stfu with your biased opinion you bastard, but thanks anyway for answering my question; i could've just checked wikipedia though.

jJayC08,
How big do you think the wheels need to be? On 20 inch wheels and 26-inch tires you need just under 4800 wheel-Rpm to hit 300 mph. This is about the size the Kone is going to have and has. But I think we are in agreement that the tires are the only real stumbling block to speeds well over 250. They'll fly apart.

also the Veyron is not really the record holder as such it's top speed it theoretical because no one has even taken the car that fast. Not even the testers at Bugatti have done it or they would have posted it. To my knowledge, the "Kone" CCX is the CONFIRMED fastest production car in the world with a top speed just under 248mph. I may be wrong but not that far off.

Having a theoretical top speed of 256, is very different from having a proven top speed of about 248.

This is a gorgeous piece of machinery, but for that scratch I would get few Alfa's in either different colors (if they come in something in addition to red) or just few red ones. Alfa gives me a bigger hardon (of course it is subjective!)

Beautiful, just beautiful. I wouldn't doubt it if this broke the Speed record, but the Bugatti Veyron is no longer the holder in the first place...

Technically though, since Shelby Supercars hasn't manufactured their supercar yet, the Bugatti Veyron still remains the record holder, but we'll see in a few years...

I still don't like the flat front too much, though =\

Blakkar- Rotation stresses can be accounted for by larger wheels. But I doubt this will have large enough wheels, as one or two inch increases doesn't make a large enough difference. And once again, we come to tire manufacturing, for such large wheels.

Big deal, why is this so impressive? Because it's all carbonfiber?

I could strap a rocket onto a frame made of balsawood and smoke this fucking Koenigsegg.

C6Racer,

I can't fault the laws of physics but the CCX will do 247mph with 806hp. given that just short of 260 sounds reasonable. But the Koenigsegg has better aerodynamics that the Veyron so we should not be surprised at 260+mph.

But the bigger problem would be tires. The reason why the Veyron's top speed is a theoretical 255+mph is because no one makes tire to carry a 4200lb car to and over those speeds. Actually they do but they are hard to find and buy and impossible to use on streets. They aren't made of rubber.

The "Kone" weighs under 2700lbs so part of the problem is accounted for. But rotation stresses will need to be dealt with about 5000 wheel-rpm, is not fun. This is the number of rotation per minute a tire must undergo, assuming perfect traction - no slip, to attain 300mph. Of course, the car isn't going to make to 300, but you always engineer overage in case of a "warp malfunction".

E85 is equal to 103 or 104 octane. Having an E85 equipped vehicle makes more power and in the case of this car it's a good 100hp or so.

All carbon fiber? Bad-fucking-ass!
Blakkarr, I'd be surprised if this thing broke even 255mph. At those speeds, you need around 20hp to increase top speed just 1mph, regardless of weight. This barely has 17 more hp that a Veyron and that tops out at about 251mph if I'm not mistaken.

by the way the e85 is what allows it to have that high a horsepower rating. e85 has a intercooling like effect and allows to run the engine at a higher level of compression which allows koenigsegg to get alot more power out of it
