Koenigsegg previews one-of-a-kind Agera XS

The XS is the first Koenigsegg developed specifically for the United States market.

Sweden-based Koenigsegg has introduced a new version of the Agera called XS. Commissioned and named by a customer, the model is the first Koenigsegg developed specifically for the United States market.

Power for the Agera XS comes from an Agera RS-sourced twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that generates about 1,160 horsepower and up to 944 pound-feet of torque when it's burning regular pump gas. The eight-cylinder spins the rear wheels via a seven-speed transmission controlled by shift paddles and an electronic differential developed in-house. Performance specifications haven't been announced yet, but 1,160 horses should be plenty in a car that tips the scale at just 3,075 pounds.

Visually, the XS stands out thanks to a Karosserie Orange paint job that's accented by a diamond dust-like metallic effect and a clear carbon fiber center stripe. The eye-catching look is emphasized by a model-specific body kit designed with input from the collector who commissioned the car. Notably, the XS features the largest wing ever fitted to a Koenigsegg.

The Koenigsegg Agera XS will be presented to the public in a few days during the glitzy car-related festivities that will take place on the outskirts of Monterey, California. Pricing information and availability will be published at a later date.
