It appears KTM is making good on its promises to go racing, as it recently announced Reiter Engineering will campaign two KTM X-Bow cars in the 2008 GT4 European Cup. The first race of the X-Bow will take place at Silverstone in the U.K. on April 20 in the Sport Lights class.
With the KTM X-bow set to launch this summer, both prospective buyers and those who already put down deposits will get a chance to see a version of their car in the heat of competition. German-based Reiter Engineering has raced successfully in the GT4 Euro Cup's FIA, GT1, GT2 and GT3 class with Lamborghinis. KTM will work closely with the team, using the racetrack to observe and further develop its cars under the demanding race conditions.
Drivers of the two X-Bows will include Italian Loris Bicocchi and German Catharina Felser. Bicocchi was also the development driver for the car, a job he also did behind the wheel of the 800 horsepower Koenigsegg CCR. Felser's experience includes Formula Ford and Formula 3.
The X-Bows the two will pilot mainly feature added safety equipment, as required by the FIA, including steel instead of aluminum rollover bars, more zylon fibers in the flanks, extended wheel covers and added passenger protection. A racing muffler and a chassis tuned and stiffened for racing round out the differences.
KTM will apply what it has learned this season to a racing version of the X-Bow it plans to sell to independent teams by the end of this year.

I think someone forgot to make the front page a little description about the article, not the entire article
