It wasn’t just the tractor factory the he made his money from, he had an italian air conditioning company that made him very wealthy. So it was not just the tractor company that paid well enough to get a ferrari.

to add some on DSs’ history lesson:

Ferruccio Lamborghini actually GOT an answer to his complaint, but not a nice one: It must have been something like this “you’re some redneck tractor maker, you know nothing about sportscars, we dont care about your complaint, our cars are not for people like you anyways”

one thing on the side: making tractors is not much of an existence? apparently it paid enough to buy a ferrari … oh, and tell john deere that theyre practically non-existent :p

shaver, here’s a little history lesson man. Ferruccio had a complaint about his Ferrari 250, and when he went to Enzo, he really didn’t get any answer. So… Mr. Lamborghini fixed his 250 himself and vowed to never again own another Ferrari and to make a better supercar. Lamborghini already had his own tractor factory, so he just expanded and started producing sports cars. The rest is history. If not for Ferrari, Lamborghini would still just be making tractors. IMHO, that’s not much of an existence.
