Lamborghini has reached a new milestone as the Italian automaker has sold its 3,000th Murciélago since the car’s introduction in 2002. The Lamborghini Diablo — the car the Murciélago replaced — took about twice as long to achieve the same sales numbers.
The updated LP640 Murciélago arrived in 2006, with a new 6.5L V12 capable of launching the car from 0-60 in just 3.4 seconds.
The 3,000th car is headed to the U.S. and includes a few special features. The Telesto Grey colored car features a custom interior package, consisting of a black base with orange stitching on the seats, instrument panel, center console and the floor carpets.
Lamborghini recently announced its plans to boost annual production to 3,000 units, a 500 unit increase over current levels.
