Lamborghini to debut jet-like car at Frankfurt

08/21/2007, 8:38 AM

By Drew Johnson

It appears the rumors surrounding a “super” Lamborghini are indeed true. The $1.6 million car is said to be inspired by the Raptor fighter jet, including the instrument panel and gray paint job. It is expected that Lamborghini will show the car at the Frankfurt Auto Show.

According to AutoWeek, only 20 cars will be built, with half coming to the United States. Reports say all 20 have been spoken for with owners laying down a $300,000 deposit. Lamborghini officials admit a jet-like car will debut at Frankfurt but haven’t released any details beyond that.

Speculation about the super Lambo first surfaced on the Ferrari Chat online discussion forums after future owners reported putting deposits on the cars.

Regardless of how it looks or performs it will be a good investment if only 20 are being built. Then it’s actually a better bargain than a Challenge Stradale.

Audi is unstoppable. Are they going to make trucks next? Could this super Lamborghini eclipse the Bugatti Veyron?

My thoughts exactly meanpants555. I mean being that bugatti and lambo are owned by the same parent company one wonders how many 1.7 million dollar cars a company can sell

Some of us would rather have a rebadged accord, but only if it has a “nav” system.

OR

Cheap italian crap! better off getting a Pontiac Sunfire 2.4! It’ll clean both lambo and Bugatti’s clocks!

OR

YES VERY NICE. THIS WILL BE FAST

STOP THE FOOKING PRESSES! If Lamborghini can produce this special car, why is not economically feasible to produce the updated Muira?
That car was spectacular and filled my loins with burning desire.
