they could definitely do some tdi stuff, a 12cyl tdi like the ones in le mans would make the lambo’s faster than they are now.

all this is for is to boost mpg for the new gov standards. lambo is essentially not going to change. i bet their going to put an on/off switch for the hybrid part of the engine

the only thing green on a lambo should be the bright green paint job. Toyota already tried this in the Lexus 600LSh the whole performance of a V-12 with the fuel econmy of an 8 for the price of a V-12 does not work for rich people, they much rather get the V-12 performance with the V-12 for the price of a V-12, you understand? perspective lambo owners wont be a any different, and I dont blame them.

Winkelmann said they will never downsize their engines , they will stick to V10 and V12 engines. Lambo will probably add a 10-20 hp electric motor and call it a hybrid , like BMW did , that way the rich can have their green image they wanted and everyone is happy.

Companies like Lambo should definitely be forced to improve on fuel efficiency and emissions, but to subject them to the same standards as normal car manufacturers is stupid. A Lambo is a different product from (For example) a VW, intended for a different purpose and is built in extremely low numbers as opposed to the millions of average cars built and sold around the world each year.

they will never make a hybrid. Their cars are driven to little, and built in to low a production to be under emissions standards. It sad that these great cars will be killed of because some nut job in office thinks whats coming out of the tailpipe is bad

I think what they mean is that instead of having just a gasoline V10 or something, they’ll have that plus a retractable Tesla coil for disabling any cars in your way.

F150, all these high end car companies say that until they realize that they have to pay those hefty fines. On the other hand, this would pretty cool to hear the Lambo whistle like the Prius’ around town

not really a big fan of this, but it’s probably all talk, anyway…i could imagine a day where dual-power vehicles existed: EV mode in the city with a limited range, and then flip on the gas burner for long-distance drives or for fun/performance…

Most of people who can afford those beasts can care less about cost of fuel. Since Lambo is in VW orbit, small Polos and Golfs should take care of fleet averages. Perhaps there is a demand fro hybrid Lambo, but I am to poor to see it.
