Lamborghini Gallardo Nera

09/29/2006, 12:45 PM

By admin

Lamborghini at the Paris Motor Show presented the new special edition Gallardo Nera — a limited-production version of the popular sports coupe. Back in May, we told you about the Gallardo Privilegio, which appears to be the same vehicle. At the time, Lamborghini released details to dealers but not to the press.

The Nera is something of a showcase of Lamborghini’s personalization choices available to all Gallardo customers. The vehicle features a glossy black paint scheme with matte black inserts. It has the same 520 horsepower V10 engine as the standard Gallardo, and the standard all-wheel-drive system. A total of 185 units will be produced. The vehicle was shown alongside the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Versace, a custom version of its more expensive sibling. Photos after the jump…

See that? Two-tone. Or rather two finishes. The AC Schnizter was two-tones as well. There’s a Hartge 3 series with two tones. The Bugatti has two tones. I think two tones/two finishes is the wave of the future for mainstream cars. Autospies had an audi with a two tone finish and a two tone interior a few months ago.

I think two tone schemes will become more common in mainstream cars. I think it makes sense too. People want individuality at cheap prices.

Oh yeah regarding the Gallardo. It’s really pretty. but, they’ve done a limited edition Gallardo in the past which was two-tones. I think the previous limited edition version is prettier than this new one.

Two-tone on the inside is nice though…

I think you’re colorblind. I like the grey and black (two different tones!) interior as well. Also love the all-black wheels.

Looks nice but for a special edition they perhaps could of added maybe a tinsy bit more power to seperate it from the normal car.

[...] Paris Motor Show patrons will get to see the black-on-black Lamborghini Gallardo Privilegio limited edition model in the flesh. (See our earlier post.) Clad in a combination of Nera Noctis (literally “black as night” – we think) and matte black, the stealth supercar is meant to highlight Lamborghini”s extensive personalization options. For those of us who won”t have the “privilege” of seeing the car in Paris (or in our garage, for that matter), there are some fresh photos of the upscale Gallardo after the jump. Being a photographer, I’m really surprised at how poor the interior shot (with the steering wheel is). The Lamborghini logo shouldn’t have a glare and be soft focused like it is….

Enough already! How many special edition versions do you need of each model (all 2 of them!) of Lamborghini? How come Ferrari has twice as many models and no special editions? Because they don’t need them; what makes the car amazing is the car itself, not because it’s a ‘special version’.

1c3d0g – pause this moment, you and I are in agreement on something. never before have we EVER agreed on ANYTHING automobile oriented or otherwise on this site, but I agree with you 100% here, Lamborghini special editions ARE pure ownage, and smash Ferrari’s in comparison. I love the quilted interior on this one, and the black on black is gorgeous. This and the LP640 Versace are exquisite.

So far no one made a factual argument as to why the special edition Lambo’s are better than Ferrari. Personal opinions are not the same as facts.
