Lending further credence to earlier reports that Fiat could merge the Chrysler and Lancia brands by year’s end, it has been revealed that Chrysler and Lancia will share a stage at next month’s Geneva Motor Show. Chrysler and Lancia will also hold a joint press conference.
It remains to be seen what products will be on display in the Chrysler-Lancia booth in Geneva, but it’s possible that Fiat could show a new product reflecting the two brands’ global integration. Chrysler showed a Chrysler-badged Lancia Delta model at last month’s Detroit Auto Show.
Lancia is slated to sell at least four Chrysler -based models in Europe, but the timeline for those rollouts remains unknown. According to a product plan revealed late last year, Lancia will sell rebadged versions of the Chrysler Sebring sedan and convertible, Town & Country minivan and 300 sedan. All four models will be imported from North America, according to Automotive News.
It seems safe to rule out Lancia-badged Sebring and Town & Country models for the Geneva show based on vehicle age, but there is a small chance a Lancia model based on the all-new Chrysler 300 could surface at the Geneva show. Chrysler is expected to reveal an all-new 300 sedan in the coming months, but it would likely have to make its debut at this week’s Chicago show to have any hope of appearing as a Lancia model at March’s Geneva Motor Show.
