Lancia has unveiled its all-new Delta at the 78th Geneva Motor Show. The new Lancia shares its underpinnings with the Fiat Bravo and its styling is based on the Lancia Delta HPE concept that debuted at the 2006 Paris Motor Show.
The new Lancia is slated to hit European dealerships this summer and will be available with three engine options at launch: a 120 horsepower or 150 horsepower 1.4L turbo gas unit and a 120 horsepower 1.6L diesel. All three engines will be mated to a six-speed transmission, with customers being able to choose from a manual, automatic or manumatic.
Later in the Lancia’s life cycle, three more engine options are expected to emerge. In the coming years, buyers will also be able to select from a 2.0L diesel producing 165 horsepower, a 1.9L diesel making 190 horsepower or an all-new 1.8L turbo gas unit good for 200 horsepower.
Overall, the Lancia’s styling definitely falls into the ‘unique’ category. Up front, the Lancia’s fascia sports a bold grille and headlights flanked by LEDs. In profile, the Lancia has an upward-sloping belt line which transitions into a Nissan Murano -esque rear end.
