British-made cars have never been world renown for their reliability, with that reputation continuing into the 21st century. Although Land Rover is now owned by an India company – and also has recent history with U.S. and German automakers – it’s still technically a British marque, and therefore can be blamed for carrying that stereotype into the future.
Now Tata-owned Land Rover has announced the recall of 19,169 Range Rover vehicles. The recall includes 2003 to 2005 model year vehicles.
According to Land Rover , the “the front differential coupling sleeve and the propeller shaft may be misaligned” on some 2003-2005 model year Range Rovers, which could eventually lead to the failure of the front drive system.
No accidents or injuries have been linked to the defect. Land Rover dealers will begin fixing recalled vehicles at the beginning of next year.
