1st off the LR2 is based off the volvo S80 platform and has nothing to do with the escape
and secondly i have never even seen one of these on the road, just on the back of a truck, so i dunno where theyre a hot seller

Just for your guys information, the Land Rover LR2/Freelander has been alright in reliability. New plants, and other such institutions has helped it alot, not to mention it’s been redesigned. The last generation LR2/Freelander was an alright vehicle too, I’m not sure about reliability but I understand a friend of mine has had no problems with it up to 150k miles (and don’t argue it’s not alot of miles, it’s simply an example of an about average car at this point in it’s life)

Generally speaking, the only Escape I see in it is the height of the doorsills and hood… other than that it bares little relationship visually to the Escape.

The Escape isn’t trying to be a Land Rover either. It’s a great vehicle, albeit a more traditional SUV compared to Honda’s CRV. And guess what? It comes in a hybrid version too, which posts some of the best miles per gallon figures, and money return figures of any hybrid.

Did I mention for some reason I really like that grill?

quit being silly, they are completely different. the escape can only wish it could be a land rover, but on the other hand the freelander wishes it was as reliable as anything.;)

i can see the Escape in it, but Freelander came out in 1997 and the Escape in 2000. So, really…. Escape was coping Freelander in 2000. Like a poor man’s Land Rover.
