Of course any company that mass manufactures will have a few defective components. All of us realize that.

Which is why your “implicates GM” comment is a bit overdoing it. There are some “domestic-fanboys” here, just like there are “import-humpers.” In total both groups are maybe 10 to 15% of the posters. The other 85% try to be reasonably fair in their assessments, maybe admitting a preference while still being fair. Those are the bulk of posters in this thread, plus I believe everyone is sick of these frivolous lawsuit ässwipes and the fact that our crappy courts give them the time of day.

However, I will say that I’m surprised that the majority of this forum is actually calm to consider all the facts. Maybe because it implicates Gm along with Toyota, and not just Toyota.

Still, since GM and Ford are always getting beaten up by bullshìt lawsuits, I’m glad to see it happen to Toyota now too.

Next up, 3 soccer-moms in their new Accords will break their nails buckling up, and Honda will get sued. It’ll also be bull, but the joy of frivolous lawsuits must be shared. ‘Tis the season…

The real causes of the Toyota specific issue are still unknown, and there has been a tremendous amount of speculation about it over the years.
I disagree with Charlene Blake’s narrow focussed assessment of the sludge problem.
She blames Toyota exclusively, where in fact the issue is a complex one with any number of possibilities.
Her frequent appearances on the net are characterized by generalities and politicized rhetoric which appear to be thinly veiled attempts to raise alarm by innuendo and inference.
When pressed for facts and verification, she craftily avoids these challenges, and when she does respond, it’s always with more alarmist rhetoric.
The absence of factual and verifiable evidence in any of her remarks is conspicuous; it certainly doesn’t point to credibility.
While I hesitate to use the term ‘lies’ in describing much of the rhetoric she liberally dispenses, I must say it seems she does take some pretty wild liberties with the truth!!

Its just an allegation, no proof. Toyota/GM know that they have no interest in letting defects roll of the line because it would cost them 100x more to fix it later either in a re-call or lawsuit. This is just frivolous lawsuit.

Having endured harassment for speaking out about the Toyota sludge problem since late 2000, I understand what Katy has experienced. There are plenty of vicious online attacks on those who wish to provide information and connect the stakeholders in cases of major Toyota problems. Why?

We believe it is because Toyota is keenly interested in protecting its name and reputation; the customers are a secondary thought. We, the affected Toyota owners, believe that Toyota will not acknowledge its vehicle defects properly, honestly.

We want to send a message that we will not be silenced. We want others to benefit from our experiences; we want the safe, reliable vehicles promised to us. We want Toyota to stop blaming the vehicle owners for inherent, major, safety-related problems.

And she should sue the third party that manage the firm and GM and Toyota because the third party company is probably wholly owned subsidiary owned by GM and Toyota jointly. I reserve my judgment as to the validity of her claim as there is no way for me or you to know from these facts alone, that’s why there is a DISCOVERY period!

Anyway, I have a friend who works at a Pontiac dealership that sells vibes. He normally would talk about a car if it were going in for service often. I haven’t heard anything about vibes. In fact, he’s thinkin of buyin one. My point is, this lady is full of shit.
