It'll most likely have a 'el cheapo' plastic interior a la the Cobalt.

And only a 5-speed manual? Geez, GM's a day late and a dollar short AGAIN. Most of the sporty cars out there are moving... or have moved to offering a 6-speed.

Plus the steering will probably be numb and the suspension will not be able to handle the weight and power that is demanded of it.

On the other hand, with 260 hp, it should be able to accelerate (in a straight line) relatively well.

Like I said in the Hyundai Nav post... Hyundai adds a Nav and everybody is so bouncy and happy for Hyundai.. GM drops a supercharged 260 HP engine in the HHR and everyone acts like they got cut-off by one on their way home.

NOS2006, Do you think it will out run the 70 Chevelle SS 454 LS6 that had a quarter mile time of 13.19 or the 1971 corvette SS 427 that did a quarter mile of 12.32. But they had much bigger motors so if you were to give the HHR a 454 (if it would even fit) it would spank a STOCK muscle car not a Aftermarket muscle car or a newer one from 1978-now. One other thing the muscle cars look a hell of alot better than the HHR even if they are rusted. i say the rust makes them have character.

I as a Ford guy always thought SS stood for Super Shitty. haha jk. Nice car I guess. You won't see many kids buy this though, unless all the people that love the XB so much fall in love with this thing.

I guarantee this will be faster, quicker, and better handling than SS cars of the 70s. Why does it not deserve this trim level? SS stands for "Super Sport" not "RWD V8 Muscle Car."

No.
Don't call anything without a V8 an SS
might as well be an s2000 for all i like it.
maybe if it had the Colorado i5 turbocharged and 2+2+2 seating, it would be worth taking a look at, but it will NEVER be a true SS!
