Actually, with German cars due to their poor after 5 years reliability and expense of parts / labor after the warranty expires, it would be wise to lease one, especially if you want to trade your car for new one in 4 or less years.

I understand you can bury your Vette as staff bus transport between your law offices in W.Palm and Miami but I’d rather see a list of cars people have kept beyond typical payment periods.

I work at a _____ dealership. I have put the numbers together too many times. Leasing is the only way to go. Most people, regardless of the way they feel at the beginning of their contract, finance a vehicle for 60 months but trade every two and half to three years. It makes no sense to keep being “upside down” constantly. Notice that there are lots of Toyota, Lexus, Honda, and Acura products on the list. DUH! They tend to have higher residual value after 3, 4, or 5 years than most other products. Buy a Dodge Ram pickup and watch it frop in value 60 PERCENT after only three years! It doesn’t take a genius to figure it out, folks!

Hmhh Troyota guessing you work at a Toyota Store. Leasing is the most expensive way to get into a vehicle. It does not make sense for most people.
Their are a few limited times when leasing makes sense.
1. When the lease is highly subzidized. Artificialy high residuals and near zero money factors.
2. You are going to run the car through a business and take the tax deduction advantage and you need to have a new car every two to three years for the business. Real Estate agents are perfect examples of this.
The above to situations only work if you can drive low to average miles.
3. You are going to drive a ton of miles a year on a high line car like a Merc, BMW, Land Rover, Audi, etc. Anything that is going to take a huge value hit once it goes out of warranty. If you bought the car and drove it for 20,000 miles a year at the end of 30 months it would be worth very little. If you lease that same vehicle you actually come out ahead. The adjusted residual value does not reflect the true value of the vehicle at all. The leasing company does not whack the residual enough for the high mileage and the being almost out of warranty.
Don’t ever lease out of warranty it is very very dumb. Leasing more then three years is normally also dumb but if you are doing very low mileage and you will stay in warranty the whole time it can be ok.

BMWs are good leases. They have the best warranty and you get rid of the car before said warranty expires.

At least if you lease a Tahoe. Yukon or Silverado, you are not stuck with it when gas goes to 4 bucks a gallon. And the only way I’d ever drive a RR is if I lease.

Leasing can be convenient depending on your financial situation. I heard that for business purposes it’s an absolute must! That’s why many people own a small home business to get all the (tax) benefits associated with it.

I have never leased a car but am considering leasing a hybrid for reasons that makes it more economical than purchasing:
1. The technology is only going to get better so leasing allows me to ‘trade up’ when the next generation is out
2. I can get rid of the car before the expensive battery needs replacing
3. W/ the technology still being relatively new – there is not telling what problems may arise w/ time & leasing allows me not to worry about that after the warranty is up

Tino,
Some of the players out there don’t really want to “own” any BMW after 3 months, or 3 years, or whatever. They’re merely happy to drive something new every couple of years… and completely under warranty.
Getting the “best deal” isn’t their priority. For the most part, money isn’t a real worry for them.

Stuart, did i say i liked the Corvette? it looks nice but i wouldnt ever buy one, and i think u will find the ’stares’ u get are stares of people thinking wat a knob who has ‘zero’ taste in a decent motor with those ridiculous spoilers from a parts catalogue.
Im from the UK and a Corvette is as expensive as the new M5(because of import duty etc and i give them respect for their commitment being LHD and overpiced after import)so u can put your cheap ass japanese tin can with all that plastic addenda into the bin….not that i rate corvettes at all apart from looking a hell of a lot better than a cheapo f###ing mitsubishi. i think people who buy cars like the Evos and WRXs are sh1te drivers where they need all the technoogy to keep them ‘on the road’, have no taste in a classy motor or is simply just an old man wishing he was younger (i typically see old men driving Evos wearing baseball caps to hide their bald head or greyed hair). Having a car like an Evo is great if its a second car as a toy, if u r so lucky enough to own as such.
So u my friend dont take a stab at me cos i never vouched for the Corvette and u can go back outside wearing your Reebok Classics, get in that cheap ass motor of yours and go and try to be a man.
FYI i drive a pretty much fully loaded E46 M3, make of that what u will, and i didnt buy it because its the most expensive 3 series but happened to be a car enthusiast with an appreciation for fine motors and personally think its overall a fantastic car because it sounds sweet, has great pace, handling, comfort/luxury, quality, looks and class. A dang mitsubishi gives u pace and handling, thats about it. It has suspension riding like a wooden cart, needs servicing every time u do a few trips down the road, isnt remotely luxurious, sounds like a bag of sh1te with that steel bin u call an exhasut and looks like a boyracers car possessing no style.
Hit me back big boy

Ha ha ha Jigga your piece of **** is an M3. Look here, Im from the England as well and I rip **** cars like your day in day out. In my town every little gay lord hippy son of a retard has an M3 that it even started to look plain ****. You are more likely to get more looks in a standard ford focus as they are less common then 3 series coupes round here.
My evo FQ340 has been with me for 3 years since I was 26. The only people that have these cars are about 29 like me. How bout the M3 ………errrr old men in their mid life crisis and people who live in dingy little flats and barely have enough money for food but have enough to fill the tank of their beemer.
And oh yeah there was a survey done last year on the worst driver on the road by the public. It showed that BMW are the worst drivers and have regard for other users of the roads. It went as far as to say they were a QUOTE “A BUNCH OF WANKERS”. You must fit right in

ok evo 8 boy, why u trashing thevette i drove evo 8 i drov evo 9 i drove ALOt of cars, honestly cuz i have rich friends an i have had the chance to drvie a viper too, wonderful car. the corvette is fast… really fast and for all the evo heads talk ive more then kept up with an evo on windy roads. The car is amazing, i know because i have a brand spankin new Z51 which i till this day have not been seated in a car that has been able to do what this car had done for me. That car is amazing. In Nj one of the summer hot spots i was driving down the strip TONS of ppl. trust me no one saw the evo 8 in a beautiful red infront of me. im in a YELLOW vette. So hate all u want, i love the evo too even with its lack of looks. BUT dont trash the ette b/c u cant touch it. Youcant compare it. Its a whole different monster for one. Its doesnt turn heads… it BREAKS them. Thats what makes corvette a corvette. Everyone knows to respect it.

My piece of **** M3 yeh? Well thats your opinion jackass. I happened to be one of the very FEW at the time to actually own one when they were first released (at the age of 20), with widescreen satnav and the 19 inch wheels. Yes now they are common NOW hence why im waiting for a new M3 in 2007.
I bought the car for it being a decent performace car overall not jus cos u may think it gives u a load of stares, u twat. if thats the way u live your life theres got to be a reason why u got to have those tacky spoilers… to replace your low self esteem….and i think u will find that most ‘other’ BMW drivers who arent car enthusiasts buy a BMW for the badge and have no clue when it comes down to it so they pay for the most expensive they can afford for credential reasons like yourself buying an evo thinking u r the man where the spoilers say it all.

badge snob my ass. u r just one of those guys that think that what u have is better than anybody elses thats shows how arrogant and self concious u r. For one buying a car because u want it to give u looks….hell u must be an ugly bastard and two, not accepting anybody elses opinions. Tell me how is an EVO better than an M3 apart from its 4wd diffs giving beter grip/handling (whih ive alrady agreed as I HAVE PRIDE unlike u). All rounder – with 2 extra doors, yeh right! Funnily ennough if i needed 4 doors i wud have bought a car with four doors….all rounder…where the hell are the creature comforts in an evo, can u even get satnav, COMFORTABLE heated ELECTRIC sports seats, NAPPA two tone leather, a PREMIUM sound system which doesnt need your ’side alley’ shop tweaking to fit those 15 inch subs in. They drink more petrol than an M3, needs servicing every few thousand miles for a start so how is that good? apart from being a pain in the ass like u? I can take all my gear in the boot without putting the seats down when i go away so wats your point, youre making yourself sound even more of a twat then i thought
i dont despise the Evo, but the more and more i read your posts i am beggining to. ive already said early that i envy people who have more than one car so that if they had an evo as a second it would be great fun.
Yeh, a 3.2 Straight six, which not only is smooth and gorgeous sounding, winning numerous engine awards its also NORMALLY ASPIRATED, do u even know what that is?! u prick. yours is a 4 cylinder, which not only is it CHEAPER TO MAKE, sounds like nails rattling in a can, it also has a TURBO so overall its lighter and doesnt need AS MUCH TECHNOLOGY to develop for power where weight and cost is an issue.
U said u were from the UK and orginally said the COrvette was the butt of the joke, whatever mate, i dont know where u live in the UK but youre talking OUT OF YOUR ASS again. So once u get your head out of there please make some decent quotes as i dont like checking back here for more bull**** from your one sided arrogant mind.
…the new M3 ****ter than my car….u c thats where you sound so damn stupid, u have probably got NO IDEA what the new M3 will be like so please stfu and get some class. youre obviously one of those evo drivers that live in a council house. if it were a proper thoroughbred Jap. tuned Evo i would give u the slightest bit of credit to redeem how much of a twat u r to society, probably driving skills show that…
