whether you like it or not, I love this car! I would not mind having it over any of the other german competitors….at least this is known to last! I’ve learned over time, that people who usually hate lexus, have never even stepped foot in one, let alone driven one! And, don’t make up stupid sh!t like, “I’ve driven it, and it sucked…the ride was too stiff…etc”
Most of you can’t even afford half the price of this car and still talk about it like it’s turd…what does that make your car??….rotten turd??

If all you want out of your car is an isolation chamber then this is the one for you. For plenty of upwardly mobile types that’s exactly what they want and Lexus plays that role better than anyone.

@ Dr. Fill. Buddy, Lexus and Acura have different focuses but they are direct competitors regardless of which one is better. It’s like comparing the Redskins to the Patriots! Lexus designs are going downhill just look at the LF-Ch, not the mention the HS. Acura’s designs are officially in the toilet. For once I have to agree with Dr. Fill. Acura tries to be Lexus competition but really competes with makes such as VW, Volvo, Saab, Buick, Cadillac, Lincoln, etc., which all provide ample luxury, comfort and style and in some cases surpass Lexus, but they just do not have what it takes to stay among the big dogs (Mecedes, BMW, Audi, Jaguar) like Lexus does.

@Dr. Fill: As great as this LS is, the new XJ and the upcoming A8 will greatly surpass anything that Lexus, Mercedes, and BMW will have to offer, forcing them to make their cars that much better. Should be fun for all.

@DrFill: Never attain top tier status? Too much baggage? What are you talking about? BMW is making models that competes with themselves and moreover no one wants. I have seen one X6 and that was just before it was shipped to Saudi Arabia. Mercedes are just overrated, cold, and lethargic boxes on wheels. Lexus, however among them, would be considered the Toyota of the top tier segment: BLAND AND BORING. Jaguar did lose its edge, but did not lose its top tier status and is coming with force and holding nothing back. Audi as always been apart of the top tier group, and with its sleek lines and drive me attitude it will be a top tier brand for years to come.

On a side note it only takes one model to ignite interest and raise status in all models of a manufacturer. Case in point: Hyundai Genesis.

@Honda: I just see VW and Saab as not economy but not full on luxury, you know the near lux-segment. Honestly do you really see Passat and 9-5 compete against the Tarus and Impala. Although I believe Acura falls in that category, Acura is far better than all the brands I mentioned in that segment earlier. I actually like the new look of the Acuras, but they just lack in that full luxury feel when compared to the top tier models. And yes, I too would take a Honda/Nissan/Toyota over VW and Saab.

I’d still take this over a 7-series anyday. At least all 4 wheels would be on the ground moving the vehicle versus 2 up on the back of a tow vehicle as it is brought back once again to the BMW service dept for repair…….

It’s a luxury car that doesn’t try to be anything else. Not a sport sedan wearing a tuxedo (BMW 7/Audi 8)…not a $200K with an excessive amount of horsepower (Merc S65). It’s a car for folks who want a cruiser. Lexus has been doing that better than anyone for the past 20 years.

I do agree with you blaze- but, dr.filled has no thought process when it comes to autos other then toyota’s. this lexus is nice. but, very bland.
the infiniti brand offers most of the same of the lexus. yet, with better style and way better customer service. well atleast in orlando. i work in a hospital and many of the doctors think that lexus is over rated and has crappy service. they just think lexus is boring and bland. which i and may of the people on this blog agree.

the hyundai genesis sedan won the car of the year award. and it blows the doors off any toyota being produced today. buicklexus does make a better car. but at a cost of $30,000 over the genesis sticker. which is a serious joke for all lexus owners.
a co-worker of mine just bought a genesis 4.6 loaded. she has said and many of the people that have driven in the genesis have said they would never buy another lexus again. it has the quality of the ls460 for the price of a is350.
the lexus brand is just not special anymore.
