Lexus prices 2007 LS 460

10/10/2006, 2:37 PM

By admin

Lexus has announced pricing for the all-new 2007 LS 460 and the company’s first-ever long-wheelbase model, the LS 460 L. The fourth-generation LS will start at $61,000 for the LS 460 and $71,000 for the LS 460 L.

The new LS features an all-new 4.6-liter V8 engine mated to the world’s first eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine, Lexus’ first all-new V8 since the brand’s launch, produces an 380 horsepower and 367 pound-feet of torque.

The LS460 L has a reclining power seat system for the rear seat behind the passenger, a-la Maybach.

At least it’s not a Merc/BMW copycat anymore, however they’re not charging copycat prices anymore either!

Like the new “L-Finesse” styling direction though. In fact, I’d say the new Lexuses look better than either BMWs or Mercedes these days.

The 7 and S also have reclining power seat in the rear, and not just on the right side too…

mbftw…..I could be wrong, but I don’t think BMW’s is like the one in the Lexus. As imageWIS said, the Lexus is like the Maybach….not just a reclining power seat.

1c3d0g -

Overpriced Toy Ota that retains its value and is in high demand in the used market….then yes, I’d have to agree with you.

My friends kept going back and forth between a used 750i and LS430…same year, same equipment, roughly same mileage. Ultimately they went with the Lexus, based on comfort, reliability, and expected value 3 years down the road. Yes, they gave up a little in the handling department…but gained much in the reliability department. Other people’s perceptions didn’t concern them at all. The ultimate clincher was having to deal with the iDrive every day.

I’d say Lexus has done their homework.

the sad thing is that Foster is probably one of those idiots who have never had a 750 or an LS and is making all this up on some crap he reads

Hey Foster—if you’re going to cuss people out on here, at least go back to school and learn how to spell and write correctly. Otherwise, you end up looking the “fuk idot” and “retard” you’ve accused Dave of being. Good grief.

WEKS,

I agree with your statement.

Perhaps in future versions of Leftlanenews we can get an “ignore user” function built in. Then when say “1c3d0g” makes a useless one line post that offers nothing, we can ignore it. Better yet, if enough users choose to ignore that user, their post simply gets blocked. That way, it is still easy for us to post (unline autoblog where you have to register your comments.)

Foster…..you didn’t take that personal did you??? LOL!

BTW….the LS430 and the 750 ARE comparable on price (base price of course). What is NOT comparable is the LS430 (V-8) vs 760 (V-12). Speaking of iDrive, that’s the problem – no one wants to relearn how to simply change the radio station or climate temperature. The complaints are that they clumped EVERYTHING into iDrive.

Dave M: that’s good that your friend bought what he likes. However, BMW’s driving characteristics is far above the overpriced Toys. Not to mention, better acceleration and so forth. I’ll take that anyday over some overpriced junk. Hopefully it’ll work out for your friend.

Lewissalem: the same can be said for your stupid posts. Go cry to daddy.

Overpriced it isn’t. Listen, my 99 Audi A8 is worth roughly the same amount as a Honda Accord from the same year, and thats solely because of their reliability. You tell me what the better purchase is. My A8 has depreciated nearly $70,000. My next car has a good chance of being Japanese.

I would say the most useless post here was by A4 “Lexus sucks Viva La Infiniti”?????? This dude is an idiot, I remember some of his other post, all pointless, and he obviously doesn’t know cars because Infiniti doesn’t have anything that compares to the Lexus or BMW or Audi, yeah they have the Q45, but that is one the lowest selling, if not the lowest selling luxury cars on the market, my local dealer doesn’t keep any in stock they suck so much.

you guys are nuts…are you blind? what is overpriced? the 61,000 LS460, the 69,000 A8, the 72,000 750i, or the 86,000 S550?

The fact that I have a hard time spelling is not the point of what I said. And when is being smart have anything to do with people who have a hard time spelling. First of all what I said is ture. But you dont take focus of what I said but the fact that I cant spell. I wish there were more car guys in here. Ow and I have growin up in the car indurstry. So dont knock that fact that I know what I am talking about and guys dont who focus on spelling not the point.

Good to see the price is still competitive and undercuts the competition by a wide margin. This new car wont win awards for styling or handling, but it sure does have a lot of gadgets and gizmos.

overall im divided on this issue, but i think that people here are just stupidly biased, to the point of blindness on the issue, like Foster, like 1c3d0g, and to be objective is to be like gsh here.

on another note: the new LS460 is really pretty damn sweet, there’s no denying it

OBjective, blindness. There are reasons that none of you are wrighting for a car mag. Becasue you dont look at the big picture. Whats I am tring to say is that you cant compare a Lexus to a bmw (dave) becasue they are way different cars. Price shouldnt have anything to do with what were talking about. But if you are then the 550i would be more of a choice. But the new lexus in its own right is a better car then a bmw if what you are looking for is a car that drives you that is boring but if you are a real car guy who likes to drive and have fun then there is nothing out there like the BMW threw the hole line up. Period. So go drive bolth of them like I have and then make a judgement but talk is cheep if you dont know what your talking about. And the only reason that guy thinks his 99A8 is worth as much as a honda accord is beacuse of the people are domb enough to buy one for that much. If you realized how over priced a Honda is for what There reliability is not as good as it was. There not that much better than GM anymore. And if I remember correctly that Cadi had better reliabilty than Honda. So there

Reality is if you dont look at brand image. The Volkswagon Phaton was a better car then the new LX430 had dual reclining rear seats heated massage a.c. on your ass and your back more power all wheel drive hand built in its own factory in dresden Germany. ??? That as a good buy, but because we in America cant look past the BAGE, we pay to much for cars so other people will say look at that guy hes got money. Reality is we are moronos

The worst car that I have ever owned was a BMW 750. The electronics were a nightmare. After about three months in and out of the shop BNMW bought it back (it was very ugly on ther part). I have owned 7 Benzs and was okay with their quality. I now own an 06 Acura RL, an amazing car for electronics and all wheel drive, but bland. I got invited to ride and drive for the new Ls460, this car is like riding in a sound proof booth. VEry fast and smooth and the paint finish is truly amazing! It is pricey but the fit and finish of the car makes it look handmade.

Only one thing MB4evarlr. BMW covers everything for the first 4years or 50k so If you say that every two years is the avarage turn ratio, then there is NO MAINTIANCE COSTS AT ALL> unlike your beloved Mercedes Benz, however i do agree that in that segment that the Benz is a better car. Much more money, but more car. Lexus doesnt compare to eather thow no matter how hard you try. Theres was a reason that the japs needed Germany, and they still do.
