Lexus has confirmed that it will take the veil off of a new hybrid concept car at the Sydney Motor Show next October.

The tail lamp depicted by Lexus' teaser image is very similar (if not identical) to that of the LF-LC concept that bowed at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year. Finished in dark blue, the car could be the long-rumored production version of the LF-LC or merely an aesthetic evolution of it.

Either way, Lexus promises that the coupe will be a well-balanced cocktail of new and traditional design cues so odds are that it will not be exactly the same as the LF-LC.

The technical details provided by the Japanese luxury brand are purposely vague. For the time being, all that is known about the car is that it will use a hybrid drivetrain to generate a total of 500 horsepower.

If the rumors are to be believed, the concept will make heavy use of carbon fiber and similar materials in order to be as light as possible.

More details about Lexus' next concept will be available in the days leading up to the Sydney Motor Show but we wouldn't be surprised to hear an announcement about it in Paris next month.
