The Tesla isn’t a bad-looking car, but something about its design seems…”off.” This car, on the other hand, is uncompromisingly beautiful. It lacks any of the almost-compulsory electric car weirdness, and looks like the offspring of a passionate Mosler-DB9 love affair. But I can’t seem to shake this little voice in my head that keeps screaming, “too good to be true!” I’ve always had a profound respect for British, underdog engineering, from the likes of Lotus to TVR to Ariel. However, I can’t help but see undertones of Bristol in this car’s sketchy marketing campaign, and frankly, that scares the piss out of me. I’ve sent an inquiry to the company regarding pricing, range, and US time to market, so we’ll see what turns up. I think this car would be a hit if they could price it below $200k, but from the £15k deposit, that doesn’t seem likely. In the mean time, I’m sure we’ll all be waiting with rapt anticipation…

In comparison, the Tesla roadster has only a 1/3 of the power, requires almost 7000 lithium ion batteries, and still has a fairly limited range when driven with any kind of a heavy foot.

700HP is an huge amount of power. Any current technology to power 700HP worth of electric motor will allow you to drive for about 10min. Some of these automakers must know something we don’t about a new power source that will make these cars feasable.

I hope its true, but I’m not holding my breath.
